Will it be possible to change music and such things in fights,, maybe zoom in a bitt, like in Heroes of might and magic 3? That would be kind of fun.

It would be quite easy to change the music, but I'm not sure about zooming. There are going to be some camera effects in the next version which weren't present in the last, I'm not sure if these include zooming.

It would be kind of cool if I could program the cameras or something so that they would do a flyaround or something.
Something like that would make it very hard to actually play the game.

I'll agree cameras flying around during gameplay would kind of suck (though that doesn't stop some makers of platform games from doing it anyway), but right before the battle started if the camera flew around to show off a particularly cool area or large boss that would be cool. Like when you see that huge statue in POG and the camera, while not exactly flying around, does show off the statue to very great effect. As long as you didn't do it before every stinkin' battle it could be all right.

It would work quite well if you did it every time you came accross a new enemy. Then maybe you could incorporate some sort of Beastery/Appendix of monsters...that would be quite cool, not sure if it's possible.

or you could have so a skill or spell triggered the pan like indentify monster or something.

Or you could do battles in a semi-Secret of Mana style... and just make subtle changes, pull back with the camera just a little bit (I'm talking tiny), in order to get the players attention, play an "ambush" noise, and have the hero draw his/her weapon, change the music.... you get the idea...

Yes, that's exactly what I ment. Though, It would be kind of cool if you've got a book or something (In the game) and if you have that book it would show a little movie or something when a monster appeared, showing strengths, weaknesses etc.

there are no camera, this is a strictly 2d engine using whatever manner of prerendered graphic you require...
'course you could set that with each battle scenario an event would fire that changes to a larger (pre created) sprite size...or perhaps an event for changing the resolution (which when used in large sucession during the playtime of the game, would cause it to crash).

I wouldn't say that's completely true.

Elaborate please. Those little answers that make you have to think are aggrivating.

Well, in PoG, at the very beginning, they made a scene where the camera shows you around all of the town -- this was without the player moving. So, in a way, the camera is movable.
I think zooming out to compensate for the range of missile weapons would have made the bow in PoG alot more useful. It would be neat if we could vary the distance of the camera to include the range of whatever type of combat is currently being employed, but to do that on the fly the engine would have to incorporate some sort of dithering feature (like in Marathon --and other less brilliant 2.5D games-- when the monsters and textures get farther away, and the engine has to use less pixels to simulate distance), and that seems to me something that would be a pain to implement at this point in the game. Grandia on Saturn (PS here in the states) zoomed in and out and back in again during its battles, and it was 2D, but I think they had meant to do that from the beginning. Er, I dunno. I think I know less about this than I thought .

Like Ares. Being able to zoom to the closest hostile npc is a useful feature.

That's really not a camera, however i do see what you mean but...
think back ::flashback technique implemented, room fades away:: remeber SuperMario, remeber how you could press an hold ( + Dpad and you could look above or below mario, that's pretty much the same thing but neither one is hardly a camera

oh and that music switch thing is quite possible however you might want to setup a range when the music triggers such as when within 256 pixels of the npc or when a command to run is given then it cuts off
doable you just need to gve it thought
