thanks shoes, that last game was one of the most exiting and closest games i ever played, i almost had a heardattack!! if it had been a race, you would have arrived 0.001 seconds later than me. and thanks for having so much charakter not to chose a pop you knew i didn´t like - for a maybe better chance to win the tournament!!! some people would, you know? Maybe this Sunday. Right now I want to see the tournaments keep happening smoothly. I am going to see about tournament based rankings. I am thinking the factors will be what % of games someone wins, and how many games they have played in.
I am sure msxgamesbox wouldn't mind hosting the scores again if you ask him. He is usually very obliging.

Here is my problem. With the pop-pop information hosted at (url="http://"http://www.foxchange.com/~poppop")http://www.foxchange.com/~poppop(/url), I have a guarentee nothing is going to happen to the web site 2 years from now. I also am able to have several people managing the web site, currently it is Number279 and myself.
I know people are asking for rankings and we may try to add these later on. These rankings will be tournament based, mostly because there is no way I want to try and account for every single game played. I only am going to offer things I can promise 2 years from now. If we want rankings based on every single game played, then this needs to be added into pop-pop itself.
I am going to probably host charts of the tournament results on the pop-pop web site I have as well. One thing that will hurt things from happening, is too many chiefs and no warriors.
Everyone, you have my promise that Number279 and myself are working hard to make all this happen. We will be adding more as time goes by. No one was stepping up to handle this just 2 weeks ago, so we did.
I think this is all going very well, we have a lot more going on then we used too. Thank you everyone!
Also in Number279 and my defense, we have made a lot of changes based on player suggestions.
Your suggestions are not falling on deaf ears. anklebiter and I really are trying extremely hard to incorporate all the features we can into the tournament. Right now, we're just trying to get the tournament off the ground, and add features as it becomes feasible.

Whatever, chief. :rolleyes: Well, you can do whatever you want to keep control of the official tournaments and official rankings and whatever, but because I want to and because it's fun I'm doing my own rankings; the beginnings of which you can see at (url="http://"http://squibix.net/popranks")squibix.net/popranks(/url); which I am as confident as you are about your site will still be around in two years. Am I still going to be as enthusiastic about pop-pop then? Probably not. But who cares?! I'm doing the rankings because I feel like doing them now.
I understand you feel like you're working hard for all of our collective good, but you have to understand that I'm very stubborn and independent: I'm from New England after all. So you go ahead and do your thing, and I'll do mine; but don't talk about 'too many chiefs' unless you're willing to step down yourself in order to reduce their number.

So gracious... you make me feel bad that I was so grouchy above! Ah well. I also hope Hyko will be able to make the next tournament, cause with him there I won't have to worry about playing in the second round! Crono too, I missed, and Texas Girl and msxgames... and of course Dingo, who I've never even got to play! One of these days we'll have a tournmanent with everyone. Of course, it'll also last five hours... but it'll be worth it!
