RD, in the places where you fight devil or Loogor's Dog does your strength,dexterity... go down just right as you challenge the dogs/devil, or does it continually go down to a certain point while you are in the area. If the first, then you could kill the dogs without cheats(glass swords/ultima...) by saving a few potions and using them after you challenge your oppenents. Just wondering,

I don't think you can survive a confrontation with Loogor's dogs. The dogs are rabid. Your strength and dexterity are both affected by the infection. If you do manage to kill the dogs, even a goblin can be a tough opponent until you can recover your strength and dexterity. In addition, Loogor wants you to pay for his loss before he will do any business with you. It's a lose - lose situation. The dogs are not a threat as long as they are penned up, why would you want to harm them?
Ratznest and the Devil present a different problem. Strength, speed, and the ability to use magic are seriously curtailed in the presence of evil. This levels the playing field so that the player must use skill and strategy with whatever stamina he can muster to triumph over evil. Once he has emerged victorious, meeting Princess Anne will restore his former stats. The reasoning behind this is that there are many players who have built their strength up to very high numbers (to kill Sea Giants in one blow, for instance) and in this final confrontation, their chances are on a par with the player who has a mere 100 or so strength rating. Unlike the fight with the dogs, the loss of stats is only temporary while in the face of evil.

Also, if you're thinking about using Elixirs after the drain, you would receive the bonus, but more than likely the stat boost would be discarded after your stats are restored.

If I remember correctly, I think I actually did kill the devil properly with a conjurer. Once. But pounding away for a half hour is just a waste of time, nothing more. Plus, it gives you a sore finger.

Having a creature with an unreasonably large amount of health isn't really all that good of a challenge. It's just a pain in the @$$. And the guardian was strong enough, geez.

I think that you(plug-in creators), when you are creating new quests, should have new powerful creatures, expecially in a long line of quest(DiD mostly). Although they should have more attack then what the devil had.(i have only died once while trying to beat the devil out of 9 attempts.) by the time i get around to the tough parts(Ratznest's (what ever his name is) gaurds/devil/ratznest) i alreay am extremely good, although i was very scared when all the sudden i was super slow and/weak and this red dude was sitting infront of me. I think that in large quest there should be a/some/many super creatures, who have large amounts of attack(so you don't get bored trying to beat someone who only hurts you 1) and lots of stanima.
Hey there
I maneged to get these numbers ( I am still playing DiD)
Stamina: 404 strength: 1050 Luck: 675 Dexterety: 200
What I did was just to get the ring of gods from the seagiants(after trying to kill one for a week) and then for example go to reef island and kill for and hour or two and sell all the stuff at Noth gidolan and go to Kara and buy all the good potions and the kill more Seagiants. Of course you can repeat this 100 times and end up with much higher statistics
Hi jakob251. Welcome to the boards.
Bringing up a topic which is a year old is called "grave digging" and most people frown on doing that. Some of the original posters are long gone and don't visit here any more. However, I was somewhat tickled to see this re-surface, so we'll let it slide this time.
About your stats: Increasing Luck and Dexterity over 150 has no merit in my experience. I'm not even sure that going over 100 has any value. Stamina and Strength do make a character better able to defeat monsters. I figure you can take out a Sea Giant in two strokes before he even gets to strike once. While this can give you a sense of power, it does make the game kind of dull after a bit.
With my more recent characters I've kept my strength under 500 and aim to get all the stamina I can. This makes the Sea Giants still somewhat of a challenge.
I'm glad to hear you're still playing Damsels in Distress. I do hope it's still fun. Good luck with your games. ~RD
Hello RD Nice to hear from somebody and thank you for welcomming me here. Really nice plugin you made there.
Anyway I got really stock in DiD. I still miss the handle of the sword. Jimmys mother told me it's west of Gidolan Keep in a Marshy area. I don't find a marshy area west of G.K. Furthermore I didn't get the thing jimmy said about the forth princess, so I really don't know where to look ???? Hope you have some challeging hints (You're right,It really gets borring to have that much power, but It's the first game where I am able to knock out a seagiant)
Greatings
The only place where you can be west of Gidolan Keep is in the map where you delivered the second princess. You'll have to push your way through some trees like you did to find the pommel stone. Look for some marsh grass near water. Then keep your eyes open.
About the fourth princess, you need to talk to the Hag again after you have all of the sword parts.
Ahhh I got it now. I was looking for a big area, but it is tiny, tiny.
I finished the game now. Man it really adds something to the game to play it with the DiD. Much better ending and what a fight I had with the devil. The Ice-screen was cool too. I hope there will keep on comming plugs for this great game. Thanks for the support
I'm glad you liked it. You're welcome. ~RD
