UncleTwitchy, just a quick question.
On the ev-nova.net topic, most people seem to be complaing about the KM scenario causing planets to dissapear and the game to crash etc. Is this just happening on the Windows version or on the Mac one aswell?
Oh, and btw, good call on deciding to put that ENT Romulan BoP into the game. Thats one sexy ship.

I've noticed it most recently on the Mac. And the funny thing is, that problem was supposed to have been fixed with Nova 1.0.7.
I'm starting to think I should get rid of the Kobayashi Maru scenario all together. While it's a neat idea, it's been more than a headache to get it to work properly. In the meantime, the workaround seems to be that if you hit the esc key, then re-enter the ship, the spöbs show back up and no crash happens.
And I agree with that ENT BoP -- especially since it looks more advanced than the original BoP. I've made it really nasty, too.

I don't think that you should get rid of it alltogether, for these reasons:
But in the end, if it is causing major problems, you should sacrifice it for the greater good. Though I'd really love to see it kept.
Also, are any resources regarding that big planet-killer from the TOS episode The Doomsday Machine in the Alpha yet? Or will you be adding them in when the storyline missions are done?

I haven't actually modeled the Doomsday Machine (or, as I've called it since I was a kid, the Giant Planet-Eating Nabisco Bugle), but the planets it eats will be destroyed in the final release (same with the giant space amoeba from "The Immunity Syndrome" -- in the current alpha build, the systems are already empty of spöbs and asteroid-filled, but this will be different in the final release).
What I am doing is adding something similar to each of those threats, and the V'Ger threat, and the Whale Probe (or, as I call it, the Giant Squealing Tootsie Roll -- which I have modelled, by the way), which I refer to as TGSB, but those resources are not going to be made public until the final release as that will be a lengthy storyline.
Stupid 6GB...
I can't play the damn thing because I'm stuck with a 6GB disk. Half for OS X and half for OS 9 = 3GB for OSK, which is where mI keep my (scenarioless) copy of Nova. I can't hold something as massive as SFA. Fortunately, something around 20GB is on order right now. At least it's on the ASW add-ons page, so it won't be deleted (well, it might, but not for a long while...).

Uncle Twitchy, you might want to recheck the shän for the Tzenkethi Warship (ID 275, SFA Ships 3). The back looks like it changes scale between frame 48 and frame 1.
Also, if you start the Kobayashi Maru mission after leaving Earth for the first time, go to the main screen and reload the pilot, and then reenter the game, the mission seems to abort and you are left with a Constitution-class cruiser to play around with, but no Kobayashi Maru scenario.
