I don't think it will be a huge problem. I just think that .bin.zip is the ideal solution from now on. I'm certainly not proposing that everybody should re-upload everything. That would probably send EVula over the edge ;).

To find a kilometer fall, which he then falls sown, only to find himself falling through a manhole into a mine which ends up going horizontal where he thinks he sees the light at the end of the tunnel but it's really a train...
I really outta shut up, shouldn't I?
Anyway, yeah, that would be a good idea. .zip can be read by MacStuffit and obviously WinStuffit (no chance to say blows...drat).
What's this .bat file reference I keep hearing about?
And that, my friends, is why I don't use Windows (I...I didn't start to say Winblows this time! )...

Relax, and forget about it.
Orcalover, all Mac users (and I am one of them) has their reasons for not using PCs, and all PC users, as we know, have yet to see the light. However insulting them is not going to get anyone anywhere. In fact, you're probably driving people away from using macintosh because they're going "Gee, I don't want to be on the same side as this guy, he's a jerk." In short, stop flaming. It's annoying everyone. Thank you.

Well, it would be a .zip containing a .bin, a .bat, and 2 readmes (one in pc and one in mac format - as you may know, nobody can agree on how to do a new line) A .bat is a batch file. It is a text file with a number of commands (ie, like the kind one could type at a command prompt) that when run executes all those commands. Some people do fancy things with them too (like SwitchCON PC) -Az

No, in short, you need to lighten up. Dude, everyone here knows I'm kidding (although mrxak says I should stop (and I intend to listen to him for obvious reasons)).
Az: I figured it was a batch file...ah, that explains why you can open it from Command Prompt.
And by the way, you intend to convert it to what, exactly? Straight to .rez or to some other compression type?
And, not that I'm an expert (or even novice :p) on this, but is that even possible with a batch file?
What the batch file would do is call the EVN converter and tell it to convert the file to .rez (and then delete the resource.map) -Az
Everybody just end the Mac vs. PC stuff now. This is your last warning.

Not only a new line... Being French, we use accents everywhere, and everytime there is a é from a PC imported text, we see Č. And so on. Just go to the plug-ins page with a Mac, then with a PC (or with one machine, but changing code mapping). The few ¨ used to refer to the ressources are sometimes screwed. And would be in a readme. But I think a better solution would be to have the readme in HTML with the é written "& eacute;" in the html code, the ď written (I actually don't know how), etc...
The idea of having to download... what? horrendous-coming-from-PC zip formatted files?!! frightens me at first, but if it is necessary I accept the idea. I find just irritating that we have to adapt to PC standards since there is few PC programs able to deal with .sits, but actually .sit is outdated so it makes no problem for me.
(edit:)hey? this web page doesn't use universal html "&+letter+inflexion;" tags for accents?? How come there is no problem with accentuated chars in the web boards then? I expected them to know how to write the ď with it; however my first "&eac; ute;"(remove space) has been interpreted by my browser as "é", of course...

I think the boards here suppress most HTML by escaping it out - prevents people from doing crazy stuff (like making 100 popup windows with porn ads appear when you went to a topic), but also inhibit innocent html.
As for using zips being scarey, it was my understanding that the commonly used decompressors for mac could seamlessly handle .zip files, which makes the process almost the same, only one might have to tell stuffit to decomress a second file inside the zip (The .bin). I belive the REASON that there are no other programs that open .sit's is that Alladin wants to have a monopoly and has the copyright on .sit, so they can sue anyone else who makes an unstuffer. Anyone able to confirm that? -Az
(url="http://"http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm")http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm(/url) contains a list of HTML character codes. To type &, type & . For accented characters, it is &(letter)(accent);, for example È is È, ï is ï and so on.

Thank you very much for the info, I was just wondering how come there isn't any cross-platform problem regarding accents (thrust me, I know about them, regularly using a Mac at home and a PC at school to browse the web). I think that, when we post the posts are being checked for accentuated chars, then if ever you are on a PC or an UNIX system the UBB software (who can ask what computer we are using) translates them for storage, then if we want to see the topic it checks which computer we are using then answers a different HTML depending on our computer. Actually these HTML tags could be an easier way to put ď, ö, etc... (that are needed to talk about plugs) than having to make alt-u, then the letter, it's quicker for you (but not for me, French keyboard of course).
One last note: it was just joking about the ".zip fright", I regularly use them on my school PCs and I strongly support the idea of one and only distribution of the plugs, this way there might be less EVN Winnies asking for a so-called "win-compatible" plug.
EDIT: AARGH! Of course when I hit "reply" the UBB gave me your post as it appears, so all you subtle work of putting & so that & appears has been lost of course so I now have to use the HTML source, copy and paste it so that it won't show the stupid "for example Č is Č, ď is ď and so on"! ------------------ M'enfin!
