I was just wondering: What was the first plugin you ever made? What did it do? Did it suck?

For graphics artists, I was also wondering - what was the first ship you ever designed? Did that suck, too?

The first plugin I made basically made a new ship with the graphics of an EV light freighter... except I didn't have a clue what I was doing.

Firstly, I didn't create a new ship, I simply modified the Light Freighter, so all the AI light freighters had the same sort of stats. Secondly, for the Turning Speed field, I assumed it used the same sort of scale as the Accel and Speed fields... hence, with 300 Turning my ship would rotate about 2000 degrees every time you tapped the arrow keys.

My first plug was a cheat plug made for myself. Now I've released one or two plugs in, small, but necessary.

I made my first plug-in for EV in 1998 and called it 'Escape Velocity '99'. It kicked up the stats for pretty much every ship, outfit, and weapon. I think it must've sucked, because I submitted it to the addons page and it never made it on.

The first actual plug I ever made created a new system and spöb named after myself, included a përs (also named after myself ;)), and had a very small storyline that didn't work very well. It was all vaguely (EV) Rebel related. It sucked.

As for my first graphic, the topic is (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum56/HTML/001062.html")here(/url), but the link has been broken since iTools died, and it's not worth uploading again. It sucked, but I got a lot of great advice.

First plugs I made were in EV and shamelessly ripped graphics off of other plugs. And they sucked. Never had any point.
First plug i released was DoNotRecruit (for Nova).

I've only made plugs for Nova since I was never even aware of the EV series until I happened to find Override and by the time I found that Nova had been out for a month or two. Sad, I know. I think my first plug was actually Ronin. I really can't remember even messing around with much before working on that. And first graphic... well, most of my work I abandon simply because I lack any sort of creativity and the ideas I do have I don't have the necessary knowhow to create. Usually I'll start working on a ship, then struggle with it for several hours getting absolutely nowhere and then scrap it. I think the first model I ever finished was a variation of my (url="http://"http://www.0three0.net/l-1551/gallery/light-fighter.gif")Chai-os light fighter(/url) which was also the first graphic I ever posted to the image gallery. I think the original just had different texturing. And wouldn't you know it, to this day I'm still reworking this model.

My first graphic was a really horrible X-wing.
My first plug added a red and green Crescent Warship to EVO... but since I didn't know what I was doing, it would shrink and jump around as it rotated.

But now I've made some real progress, so far I've made about $200 off 3d, which is a good start.
EV was my gateway... I would know nothing if it weren't for these boards. Thank you Ambrosia.

Hmm.. If my memory serves me well, which it tends not to... my first plug was for EV or EVO, I'm a bit sketchy on the details. But I know what it did. It added a new storyline in the Sol system, where Mars had been colonised secretly, and you had to bring it supplies and protect it from the Army of Sol who didn't want it there. (The colonists were working indepenantly). My first foray into missions.

I really cant remember what my first plug was but I made a very huge plug for EV that Ive never uploaded. Is real fun to play it today cause you could mine asteroids (I made this long time ago before Nova came out) and ... ah what Iam telling you... its just fun
The important part is, that Ive worked on it for 2 years - and its still unfinished and unbalanced.

My first plugin was.... I didn't have a first plugin. I started editing when EV 1.0.0 came out, so there were no plugins to edit! I edited the Data files directly and made the escape pod so that it was pilotable, added an outfit for the heavy fusion beam, and gave the escape pod 8 of them. Great fun...

My first graphic was to take a capital ship, scale it smaller, and make it a fighter of the larger ship.

My first plug-in involved my first graphics, some ships I created in Illustrator and some planets I'd made using Adobe Dimensions (of all things) just to see how I could replace the graphics of EV. Interestingly enough, it was the precursor to the TC I'll be working on after I finish SFA. I never released it, though, as the graphics stunk on ice.

EVO Plasma, Up With The UE, were both my plugins, my first released ones.

As for my first ship graphic, It was way back before infini-d was invented, when it was Specular Logomotion. My ship was a Flying saucer-esque thing. (basically a lathe)

Hahaha.. I remember the day I discovered you could make different colored ships in photoshop.. Man I made about 15 different hued UE Fighters.. Two of which actually ended up in Reign II. So I guess that was my first and only attempt at any kind of ship graphics.

I also made most of the station graphics in F-25.. but some of those are pretty sad and came afterwards..
