Heh. Bryce 4 crashes everytime I go to the 'Object' menu when I start it up in OS 9.2.2, but in OSX 10.2.4, it never crashes. Runs a bit slower though...
ResEdit has only crashed once for me, and it wasn't major at all, and it re-opened just fine. It crashed I believe after I closed a window for the oütf editor in a plug I'm making. The plug is only about 200 kb right now because I've stored all the graphics in another file. (for e-mailing purposes)

Ok, I've done some more work, and here are some causes of crashes and how to avoid them.
Make sure Energy Saver is at 'Highest Performance' - Classic Apps have a tendency to get cross when some aspect of screen dimming kicks in
Make sure that you have the modem and ethernet switched off in the Locations setting, unless you are actually connected to them. OS X has a habit of trying to connect every once in a while for reasons unexplained to you (the user) although which doubtless make perfect sense to it. When it can't connect, it hangs around for a long time and gives the impression it's crashed.
Use OS X 10.2.8. It claims to offer better stability with Classic apps. I've only just installed it so I'm not really in a position to say whether this actually makes a difference yet.
