Correct. You will not be able to pass the gate until you have finished the quests for Orobas and he gives you the seal and the secret special clan handshake(ok, just the seal is required to pass the gate).

Don't worry, the guardian's lair is like a roach hotel: you'll check in, but you won't check out.
The game ends after the guardian is killed and the final quest is completed. There is a plug-in available that breaks this end-game sequence so you can continue to play the game, but normally you will get the credits and be taken back to the main menu.

Well dunno how much my brother was eggagerating(sp.) with how many non-english guys there are, all I know is they must not of been to fluent with it for how many errors they have.
