Infini-D

I know that infini-D doesn't do metalic textures very well, but I know it can be done, as it has been proved by WeePul.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to do it? I just can't seem to figure it out.

It's Weepul, not WeePul... That's right, kiddies, another fact from the resident nit-picker!

In response to your question...
I have minimal knowledge on how Infini-D works (my experience being with the preset textures and basic primitive models) I guess you have to creat a new texture with your metalic texture, then set the specularity up high in Infini-D.

To make a simple metal texture (in Photoshop):
Create a new file about 600x600 (make it BIG)
Use Filter>Noise>Add Noise... use despeckle, and it should make dark and light grey specs all over your image.
Uss the Motion Blur filter to make the "brush stroke metal" used in Apple products like QuickTime.
Make darker panels for things like extra plating, by selecting a square (anywhere) and filling it with dark grey. Set the transparency to about 60%.

I used to be sane, but then I got a 5th email address...

Who said that Infini-D doesn't do metallic textures well? (url="http://"http://www.rustboy.com/") Rustboy(/url) makes infini-D sing. The artist used only infini-d
