Anyone know how to open a quicktime movie in photoshop as a layered document?

I'm no expert on Quicktime, but I wouldn't imagine it was possible to open a movie as a layered document unless the movie file was itself layered - you would need layer data that would not be there.

I believe ImageReady that comes with photoshop can do that. Or else you can export the movie as an image sequence then use image ready to layer them.

Thats what I figured too, but apparently it can be done, the ship development guide, by R. W. Dillman, states, and i quote:
There are many different ways to produce these graphics. You will have to use your own applications and skills to create your own original images. For reference, here is how we did it:
A. We created the ship, including the engine glow, in the Bryce 3-D modeling application.
B. Using the Bryce animation feature, we rotated the ship through 360° in 10° increments.
C. We rendered the animation to disk as a Quicktime Movie.
D. We loaded the Quicktime Movie into Photoshop/ImageReady where it arrived as an image with 36 layers, each containing one image of the ship.
Just wondering 'how' he did it
