The "Out of Memory" error can be (often is) triggered by a missing or corrupted PICT resource. Use plug checker again. Also use Pontus' EVO Formula Calc to make sure you numbered all the resources correctly and didn't forget any.

11300k is peanuts. Try 21300k. I have mine set at <checks> 29300k, but I play with large plug-ins like Magma.

Oh ... 11 meg!? I wasn't looking close enough (time to shut down and go to bed). I think I set EVO around 20-25 meg for ordinary work and up over forty when playing a TC.
And make that real RAM, too -- not virtual memory or RAM doubler or what-have-you.
yeah, back before i figured out that the out of memory error had nothing to do with memory i set ev to 70mb and never took the time to set it back to something reasonable. of course, the 50mb to which i've set evo isn't that reasonable, but i got sick of having to up the memory every time i added a few more graphics to a plug, so i just doubled the suggested and rounded to the nearest multiple of 10mb

The out of memory message is the message EVO will display if it encounters any kind of problem loading a plug. most commonly this means resources pointing to other resources that don't exist (Ex. spin 128 points to PICT 1200 as the sprite, but there is no PICT 1200)

The Plug Checker is sh-t! It gives me problems that I already fixed. So, I decided to check the Plug-In called Bounty Plus and it gave me around 400+ problems. So, I think it's bogus!
DAMMIT! Well. I'm gonna go now. I guess I shouldn't have posted this. Yes, I'm dumb! But heck, I was trying to get it back cuz I had lost the Register Now file that was in EV. So that's why. Sheez Louis! No one wants to hear even half the story eh? Fine, lower me. Whatever.
OOPS! Wrong topic! But heck! Why did I get my karma lowered? I didn't do anything wrong! I didn't threaten anyone! And if it's because of my post about Plug Checker, well, I was tellin the truth! And if that's wrong, fine! But others have dissed EV-Edit and gotten away with it!

Anyone who wants to make plugs should be encouraged, so I'll try to help.
First, read carefully any ReadMes, manuals, or help files that come with software.
Second, befor you try to use an application for serious work, spend some time playing with it; pull down the menus, try different options, get to know the program.
For a specific example of this, Plug Checker requires that a plug file be loaded into its memory each time you run a check, if you do not do this, you get the same report you got the previous time you ran Plug Checker. The command is under the "File" menu and is called, oddly enough, "Reload Plug-In." If you do not use this command, or use the "Load Plug-in" command after making changes, Plug Checker uses the data in memory to generate the same report on the plug that it did before the changes were made.
Plug Checker does have some quirks, and does sometimes report "errors" that are not actually errors, but it is a valuable tool if used correctly. It does take some experience to distinguish the false readings from actual errors, but it is worth learning.

Groan!
Why is it that whenever someone helps the EV/O community by releasing a must-have application, somebody else comes along and disses it without understanding it first. See Joe's comments above. However, PlugChecker does not give 'wrong' readings, although it finds different levels of errors, some of which are about plug aesthetics and compatibility with developer agreed standards, while others are things which would crash your plugin. Note, however, that Plugchecker actually tells you which are which kind.
Just saying something is 'bogus' or 'rubbish' is the fastest way to discourage the application's developer, which, eventually, means no new updates.
Come on, everyone. Let's be a community which encourages each other and especially encourages the people who are helping us.
In the words of a higher authority, let him who has no bugs in his software cast the first aspersion.

You do realize that all karma modifications (up or down) come with an explanatory e-mail, right? Have you checked that recently?

Martin: Well said. Plug checker isn't perfect -- as TSB noted, it marks some of false positive errors -- but it is a very useful tool. Of course, nothing can replace actual play-testing of the plug!
No duh Mac! All they said was that it's because of what I said here! Well, that's not good enough for me! If someone wants to post their opinion they will! And I did! Others have posted their's about EV-Edit, so I don't see a difference here. Ambrosia is mad at me cuz I said I wouldn't be paying their Registration Fee for another 15-20 days. That's when I get my Visa Bucks card. But they don't care.

Actually, it was probobly because you keep posting things like this. And doing it three times in a row. Remember that other people do read what you post here, so please think a little bit before you post something.

Okay, I guess I could be a little more 'nice'. It's just that everything keeps pissin me off. Ambrosia lowered my karma for nothing! ares1 sometimes posts as much rude things as I do. So why isn't his lowered?
Disregard this whole topic. I found the problems.
I do try my best not to be rude, although it is probably merely a matter of time before I let me emotions get the best of me, end up posting something I later regret, and getting my karma lowered.
The best thing to do is revise what you write a few times before you post it. The real problem with electronic communication is that other people can't tell when you're kidding around or being sarcastic, because there is no tone-of-voice here. And some people, especially mods, take stuff said here seriously. It's best to not post things that might offend someone, than go ahead and post those and eventually get a lower karma and reputation.

Hey, don't leave. Unless a mod told you to leave, you should stay. Try raising your karma through good deeds and helpfulness instead of running away until the problem solves itself.
And it's just a number. People won't judge you by it, but rather your character.

well, I'm just not gonna post any comments. I will post replies though.
