------------------ Kirk - Scotty, we need more power! Scott - I kinna do it captain, I kinna reach the controls...
Well, there's Mechanisto, a free 3D design program available from the EV addons page.
Infini-D is also pretty good, although it's now discontinued, so you'll have to go to some of the more shady areas of the web if you want to find it.

Well Light Wave 3d is the best thing since toilet paper, but far more expensive (along the lines on $2,600, or $900 with an acidemic rebate).
You'll need makespin to make your sprites, and resedit to compile everything.

Maya is better than Lightwave, but more expensive.

Thanks, but i ain't gonna waste money on it, so i hope mechanisto is good!
Mechanisto is good, but Infini-d is better, too bad I don't have it.

any idea where to get infini-d?

There's your answer, but you can do like me and try to buy it off of somebody, the problem is that most people won't give their beloved program to you, no matter what price. Anyone that views this and is willing to let me buy their Infini-d(a legal version of course), please e-mail me at: skyguy@bronzefx.com
I would be very greatful to own my own copy of it.

well, mechanisto was a dissapointment. u need a ppc, i only have a 68k. unless there's a program for 68k...i'm screwed...=(
I feel for you, I was stuck with a 68k for a looooooong time, it started to piss me off. just recently my family got a G4(hooray!!). That means that I have a G4 and you don't!!! I apologise(if I can spell it right). There are some programs for 68k's but most of them run slow and you have to program your own meshes(a real pain). Try to get a PPC as soon as possible, you can do a whole lot more with them.
As for any programs for 68k's, I'll have to look through my old computer and find some links for you. I'll try to post them tomarrow if I can find any.
Thanks, i don't mind them being slow (if you mean running slow) because since my 68k was so slow i stuck an emulator on my dad's pc, so i could run things faster, i just wish i could get a ppc... but i'm kinda only 14...

I wish the G4 was all mine, but instead I have to share. I hate sharing, I'm only 13 and would buy my own G4 if it didn't cost $2,100!!! I think we're broke now.
lol, bytes doughnut? at least it only costs $2100 for u, at that price it'd be about $4500 for me...
that price it'd be about $4500 for me...
Ouch!!!
Well I'm tired, it's 11:45PM here I think I'll go to bed. ChaosMan, check your email.
well, i'm trying to check my email...ooooo YES!!! i made it!!! cya round

Oh yeah, this reminds me of the good ol' Performa630...
Anyway, I used a 3D-program called "Renderboy" for a while. It has not much features but it runs with a 68k and it's cheap shareware (maybe the older versions could be even free).
But the best app is PovRay, definatly! It's more like a programming language and you should read some tutorials and example scenes, but the results are awesome. Large, high quality images will take hours to render on your slow computer but I got used to it. You can read a book, go out for lunch or even go to bed and let the computer do his job. Give it a try. Hmm, if you need a picture which does take too much time to render, you can also send the scene to somebody else with a faster computer
Good Luck and happy rendering.

ChaosMan -
You could concievably draw the sprites manually and rotate them in Photoshop (get the demo and use a screen grab if you have to). I know Capt. Skyblade does all his work in Photoshop, I also know we about the only person I know who does this.
3D programs . . . I personally use Infini-D and there is a 68k version as well that would run fine on your computer, there were some demo's of it, but I threw out all my disks when I moved, sorry ! :frown: Try looking online though . . .
Infini-D is also one of the more intuative and easy to learn programs, I am entirely self-taught without a manual or anything from the various demo versions I got. Ray Dream Studio (also discontinued) is good also.
Really I don't know of anything commercially avaliable for under $200 (if you get anthing get Animation: Master, its worth $2000 and costs $200 and what I will probably buy next). I suggest looking online for more freeware programs, but you are not gonna do much better than Mechanisto or POV Ray. Sorry.

I hate you.
OK, I kinda slept in today, and it was kinda 12:30PM when I woke up so I didn't get to what I was going to do. I'll just have to do them now. I have found a great website that has ton's of 3D programs for Macs, PCs, etc. It hasn't been updated in a while, so some of the links are to websites that have moved or gone out of business. don't forget ot check the programs requirements!! Here's the link: (url="http://"http://www.chickenfish.cc/resources/3dresources.html")http://www.chickenfi...dresources.html(/url)
I also know wher you can get a demo of Infini-d but I'll have to dig through some of the older web board topics.
OK. It wan't that hard to find. I don't know if it requires a PPC or not but here's a link to the topic: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/cgi-bin/ubb/postdisplay.cgi?forum=Forum9&topic;=001536")http://www.AmbrosiaS...m9&topic=001536(/url)
