Wow... looks pretty cool! Keep up the good work!

Thanks, guys! I'm surprised at the feedback in such quick timing.
endowed with great coolness

Pretty cool, but the shadows and the lense flares don't seem to agree...
I'd limit use of the lense flare...for I don't really like the glare it gives off...
PEACE YO!

good job.
good things: the texturing on the war vessels, and the background, plus the modeling of most of the warships
bad things: the flyer ships look weird, the rectangle with ovals on the end at the front of the warships look kinda off, um you have two moons next to each other, which might be afactor in the plug-in, but it looks funny, and the lazers don't look strong enough.
but i definitely like the warships texturing

Well Jeremy, it's an intro screen, so the player will only see it for three to five seconds. And I have one planet with a moon next to it. The lasers were made on a computer...They won't look perfect.
All the Star Wars soundtrack images have tons of lens flares, so that's where I got the idea. People like them, too...
Anyway, thanks for the comments and suggestions!

Oops, sorry about the above post. I really wrote that...I forgot I was using my older brother's username.
well, i still think it could use a little work, but good job nevertheless.
also, what'd you do to texture those warships. draw it up in pshop? or did you d/l a texture?

I might try playing around with the picture and try adding or taking away a few features...
As for textures, I have never used them. I actually made the Imperial Cruiser (the two giant warships in the background) a few months ago, and it only took about three hours to make. All the lines, lights, shadows etc. were done manually, which I would perfer over textures anytime.
Just thought I'd mention it for Cappy Skyblade's sake, the ships here were done in Photoshop (manually). Personally, I have no idea how he did them (my few feeble atempts were... well... feeble ), But I salute him for his effort and long hours

Hehe...Believe me, I still have plenty to learn with Photoshop. You can never learn all the features that Photoshop will do... Don't worry, the longer you spend time using Photoshop, the better you'll get. I've used the program for six years now, so that helps. Thanks for the comment, appreciate it!
Well, my results would improve by about 250 % if I didn't have this damn hockeypuck for a mouse... I need one of those pen thingamagigs... Well, I think the ships look REALLY good. I'm not even going to try to say anything negative because I know I can't even get close to that

Hehe...Well guess what? I've always used the typical Macintosh "hockey puck" for my graphics. On my dad's computer, (another G3) he has the new apple mouse, which is heaven compaired to the original. It looks like it's made out of glass, and it's cool. My older brother likes to use the pens for graphics, but for some reason I never got along with those...
Well, I like the intro pic, except for one big thing. Why are we only showing the bad guys? I mean, shouldn't we have the intro pic be a clash perhaps between a Dreden Carrier and the Imperial Cruiser? Then we'd have the classic starwars image!
Cheers & see you other Corsairs on the boards, ~Jedibrass

Actually, there is a reason for that: I designed the image wanting the player to get a sensation that the Empire is powerful and evil. Having Imperial ships on the intro screen gives the impression of massive war fleets and power in which to fight the Dreden and Kelan races. As for the screen the comes up once you start a new pilot, I plan on making a huge spaceport in Dreden space, flooded with Dreden shuttles, freighters, cargomasters etc.
But as far as the intro screen in concerned, it's kinda fitting for what we have in mind. You'll love the image once you hear the music that goes along with it...
Seeya at the board!
