That has got to be one of the funniest things I have read in a long time...

Yeah, once I lost 3 months of work because of that damn bug. You know, the one where you'll get the messed up spin resource and there's pretty much nothing you can do about it?

But, like cheater plugs, EV-Edit isn't entirely evil. It is a great way to learn the ropes of EV/O programming, whithout being completely overwhelmed. (cheater plugs are very useful for Beta testing challenging plugs)

If I'm not mistaken, he got the idea from trying some AppleScripts that I wrote that were supposed to export resource data to spreadsheets and back again. The scripts worked only about 90% of the time, and I was too busy with other projects to perfect them.

Mission Control has been excellent to use, until you go back into ResEdit and find out that it's messed up the travel or return stels with it's odd numbering system. That, and no STR editing, etc. That said, it still kicks Schemelta-V's ass clear across the planet.

I'm sorry,

MC is still beta software, and what we really need to help fix it is feedback, preferably with concrete examples of problems. The oportunity to do stuff for Nova has meant we haven't had time to go back to MC and SW for a little shile now, but please send us information about problems and any constructive ideas.

Also, remember MC and SW are free! 🙂

Ralph

PS the numbering system is something I am willing to negotiate on. I like index numbers in preference to resource IDs, but opinions may vary. There is an option in NovaTools to swap between ResIDs and Index #s.

Hey guys... what ever happened to using good old EV-Edit? I meen, according to Ben Chess, he's going to make a new version compatible with EVN. Yes, all the new stuff sounds great, but can't you do most of that in EV-Edit?

Yes, you can do that in EV-Edit, but why would you pay for something that you can get free elsewhere? The only real advantage to EV edit is it's syst/spob editing, but Pontus' EV:O Developers Map does it better. I never paid for EV Edit, and rarely used after discovering its bugs, and the existance of free, bug free editors elsewhere.
