Well, I'm just here to ask what your favorite fighter and least favorite fighter is, and why. I'll edit the results into this message as soon as I get some replies. I'm also making one in the other EV boards just in case you're interested.
Personally, my favorite is a Crescent Fighter and least favorite is a Krait. Why? Crescent Fighters rock and Kraits suck.

Least favorite: Krait: 4_

Emphalga fighter. It's not insanely difficult to use, but still provides PLENTY of challange against Voinians.

You like the second worst fighter in the game? shudder It's only good sides are exceptionally high armor for non-Voinian fighter (15), and exceptionally high cargo space for non-Voinian fighter (10). My favorite is Azdara with Dospect Armor and 4 Blaze Cannons. It's enough to win a Voinian Frigate in a standstill. My shields drop quickly enough, but my armor renegerates so fast that as fast as I lose some it's regenerated. I got Experimental Shield Generator before I got an Azdara, so I haven't tried yet. For Crescent fighting, get Swiwel Phase Cannons back.

Personally I like the UE fighter but then I've only pioloted 3 fighters. Crecent UE and Emaliah. I really think kraits suck but are a fat pain in the ass when 9 of them are swarming you with about5 helians and tuncoats shooting those damned useless needle missiles

Seriously. If you outfit it right and do the Azdgari storyline, those things are great.

My favorite fighter is the UE fighter because it is fast while still packing enough punch to stand up to bigger ships. Kraits are the worst. No armor and barely more in the sheilds combinded with a weak array of weapons makes this ship the worst of the fighters.

I thik when there are more than 5 of those rockers they are invulnerable (for a FIGHTER) Once a few of the dreadnots FIGHTERS all came to me I was stupid enough to stay still nd rceive a dozen VOINIAN rockets . They destroyed my whole UE destroyer with that 1 shot. Voinian rockets are more effective than human rockets

When I had a bounty hunter mission to kill a renegade vessel after every jump a few guys come up, right?
Well around three or four kraits died from the explosion of a frigate!!

Actually, they're not half bad. I made a plug-in with an Emalghan Warship made into a "Carrier" that had 4 E. Fighters. In groups, they do extremely well.
Fav: Krait because i killed the dreadnought in one
Hate: Azdara because i can barly board ships and it's so damn fast that the only tactic i can do in it is circle the enemy.
The Krait can be the best fighter of all if you know how to outfit it. Not too fast, good protection, good weapons...

Not voting yet... though I see no one has voted for the Voinian interceptor. It isn't as heavily outfitted as the voinian fighter, but its speed does prove useful when taking down pesky UE ships with Voinian tech.
I haven't tried the emalgha fighter, though I want to say that it is at least better than the stock shuttle.

I think it's pointless to say that because I think everybody agrees that the Kraits fighters sit in the bowels of the lowest of all the lowest evolutionary fighter ladder.
As for my favorite, assuming that I use them as escorts, It would have to be crescent and strand fighters. I like them because they are fast, and numerous, plus their shields are very strong.
Out of all of them, I would go strongly with Azdara fighters, they are the fastest, and strongest in shields, and finally, they are carried the most in numbers than any other fighters, 6 Azdaras can do alot of damage.
Say, can we also include fighters from scenario plug-ins as well as conversions?

UE Fighters are good (they can tear a Lazira, though with 3 fighters lost), but aren't as good as Crescent Fighters. Nevermind Azdaras...

Hmmmmm. Not sure. I used to agree but stop to think for a moment. A well flown fighter can do damage far out of proportion to it's cost. A properly handeled CF can take down any ship (OK this is true of any player Vs the AI). However thing of the following scenario. You are flying along in your tank (Igazra, UE cruiser, whatever) and get jumped by a vastly superior fleet. You can fight till you shields and armour are gone and then you can try and run to recharge. And then you die. Messily and painfully. (You can MP but I really don't like to). In a fighter you can, at least in theory, fight an infinite number of ships and win. It'll take a while but it'll get done.
That's my tuppence anyway. Could be that I just suck flying tanks. I like them but I suck in big battles.
