OOC: Thunder, please-please-please reply to my message. Carnotaur, did the Gamaerans not chase the Izirions, or bring more ships into the system? Also, can you give me the approximate number of ships in a standard Gamaeran border system? On that matter...I'll just have to put up with the fact you made four stations appear like that, where you would have had it take me 4-5 posts, and it didn't even take you a project slot at all...but you're like that, and there's nothing I can do about it. It doesn't matter anyway - <sweet smile> - since you're going to tell me how much shields those stations have, and then I'm going to tell you how many hy-vel rockets I'd need to fire (420,000 or so available at the moment.)

May the Galactic Community prosper for all eternity, and may our fleets be successful in defeating our enemies. Indeed, I assure you, when the year is out, the Akrahd threat shall be no more, and the Ediens shall be but a pale shadow of a pale shadow, awaiting as the might of the Galactic Community passes final judgement upon them.
Now, if you'll excuse me, our actions against Gamaera must continue. They have not chased our Izirions, so we can only assume they reinforced the area. We will raid again, however.

Outpost Derash Believing that the Gamerans would have increased concentration, the Izirions made a second raid, after quickly changing rearming themselves, half with new hyper-velocity rockets., and the other half still the deadly anti-fighter rockets.
When the ships, only just under 70,000, entered Outpost Derash, the four stations were quickly noted, and the Izirions, under one command, simple broke into two fleets and flew the other way. The station's railguns were quickly out of range, and no missiles got through from just four stations, with 210,000 kyhdron beamers working entirely to stop missiles (a sad use, granted, but a necessary one.)
And then the hyper-velocity rockets saw their first use, and the Gamerans learnt a very sharp lesson in numbers. It was something along the lines of "4 is a bit less than 70,000." The Izirions all fired one hyper-velocity rocket, at a different station. 17,500 rockets streaked towards each station. Too fast and too protected for most point defence systems, and powerful besides, the rockets annihilated the stations with frightening ease. It would be said it was a waste of ammunition.
After all, each station was hit with 700,000 shield damage (OOC: EVO scale), ten to a hundred times more shields than they had. It was a great overkill, but it proved their point. The Gamaeran's efforts had been futile.
A second or two later, another wave of hyper-velocity rockets flew, dealing 2,100,000 shield damage amongst many targets, and then a third and final wave, before the Izirions leapt forward into high speed, deploying anti-fighter rockets which slaughtered any Akrahd fighters.
The Izirions fought harder this time, for several minutes, and some of their number was lost. The destruction the Gamearan fleet had felt was unholy. 4000 ships had been lost in the first raid, of 30,000, and 8000 more were destroyed now before the Izirions turned and left to S-1293.
They arrived there, and made use of an ammunition store on a desolate planet, the supply ships that had come now gone. Rearming with three hyper-velocity rockets and three anti-fighter rockets per Izirion, they were ready for another conflict.
Ki'Ran Ki'Ran had taken similar preparations, and the result was also similar, although the Izirions here were much more aggressive. They did not leave before the Gamaeran fleet could regroup, nor did they waste hy-vel rockets on destroying the stations. Their rockets wasted the stations from out of its range, and several times more fell upon their fleet and their planet - the latter striking high energy emitting zones, reactors, military bases and the like, accurately.
The Izirion's armanent of three kyhdron beamers gave them a muscle that was quite unexpected, and between dampeners, layers and powerful shielding, they were tough cookies. They were also fast, and whenever they left range of primary fire, their beamers turned to point defence. It was almost too easy. Weaving in and out of the Gamaeran fleet, the Izirions took one target at a time, hitting in groups, going for the largest ships down.
15,000 Izirions were lost in the opening but decisive melee, and half the Gamaeran's number, another 15,000, lay in wrecks.
Hokemnor While the Gamaerans were preparing or had prepared for the raids upon Ki'Ran and Outpost Derash, a third prong struck, another 70,000 or so Izirions, where they had been quite unexpected. They only made the openings of a raid, and all hy-vel rockets, all 210,000 of them, were launched at enemy warships, while 210,000 more anti-fighter rockets were fired at closer range at Gamaera fighters. 4000 Gamaeran ships were lost, and the Izirions were gone quickly.
S-2334
Eight armadas, totalling 400,000 ships of Zidagar and Igadzra, were now waiting in S-2334, for the Gamaera's reaction to the raids. When word came back from Ki'Ran and Outpost Derash that Gamaera had not brought in more ships, or moved to chase them, Dacona, Lariat and Idune had to consider the situation. Their fleet was enough to tear through Gamaera's systems anyway, but the extra advantage would have been helpful. The Ki'Ran raiders were making a fullscale assualt, and there was no doubting that they would be victorious. Hokemnor and Outpost Derash had both been raided again heavily, losing 13,000 ships between them. Everything was under control.
Dacona and Idune eventually voted against Lariat, who wanted them to strike now. The fleet thus remained in S-2334 for the moment, daring a Gamaeran fleet to appear. If they knew they were there. Meanwhile, Lariat sent a message to Var'Chen'Ra. The Gamaerans were mistaken if they thought all cards had been played already.
Hokemrahi Hokemrahi was a border system far away from former Strand League space, out of the line of fire, so to speak. It was quite unexpected, therefore, when a fourth prong struck the system, stronger than all of the Izirions put together.
1500 Igazradas, and nothing else. It was horrifying, seeing so many of such a large, powerful ship. As the Igazrada upgrade program was going ahead already, it was well known that this would be one of the last demonstrations of the particle railgun, and Scarab discs. Tens or hundreds of thousands of Scarab discs were launched, seeking heavy targets and devastating them. The Igazradas formed their own reef, that ancient tactic which said quite clearly; "come closer and die", with an added hint of ; "stay back and you'll die anyway."
Railguns fired even as the Igazradas moved backwards, while facing forwards, to drift away from their opponents - but still in range for their railguns and discs, always in range. Any attempts to charge the reef would be foolish. Railguns, discs, and finally the power of duelbeam.
Not only that, but some railguns were not hitting the ships even as the battle progressed, but the planet itself, destroying cities and military complexes.
In a famous IGNA opening, 10,000 of 25,000 or so ships were destroyed, leaving the rest to make their move.
Somewhere in the Milky Way The battlegroup continued through the Milky Way, and would arrive in Horosk space within five weeks. Hopefully, they would not be too late. Also, another contingent of three thousand Igazradas had been sent after their heels, and more would follow. Even so, the attack was verging on being purely suicidal. Outnumbered and possibly outclassed still, they would still do their upmost. Much of the faith they retained went with the IXD.
Cintrial Finally, the hyper-velocity rocket and P-rail had been completed. Great cheers had gone up in the science department, quite literally, as both were annoying and tiring projects that had taken far too much of their time to complete. All had gone without enough sleep for much of the time, and none had slept less than the leaders of the operations.
Slightly more powerful than the anti-fighter rocket, but without the blast radius, hyper-velocity rockets had a speed that was almost unbelievable, and as such an extraordinarily impressive range. They would replace SAIs or Scarab discs, capable of delivering their warhead more effectively and faster than either. They were not, in fact, any more powerful than Scarab discs, but a hyper-velocity rocket could not have its none existant guiding systems jammed, and with its speed and accuracy, it could almost hit a fighter squarely at the very limits of its range, before the fighter could move. Against warships, there would be no problem at all.
To accompany the hyper-velocity rocket was its doubtless superior - the P-Rail. An upgraded version of the particle railgun, using two pairs of rails, which would alternate to help prevent degeneration of the rails. The speed of the railgun was enhanced, resulting in an increase in damage which particularly effected mass damage. The P-Rail was also mounted as a proper turreted platform, with a track that ran around the ship, and a fast-tracking turret. With a 360ş by 360ş angle of attack, it was greatly improved over the original particle railgun.
Now, the new designs would be implemented on the Igazrada and Izar, including a minor systems upgrade in other areas.

The Asani government, responding to the Horosk's plea for assistance, has decided to grant them aid in the form of two hundred and fifty thousand ships. The fleet has embarked for Valk in order to attempt to disrupt the Edien lines, thus making it easier for the Horosk to defend against them. The rest of the Asani fleet has been assigned to border duty to prevent any possible incursions while almost half of the fleet is away.

Iraevol was suddenly awakened by a bleeping on his computer. Looking at a screen, it alerted him that Elantris had accessed the logs which recorded what he had done. As he hacked into the database to see what Elantris had done, Iraevol also scanned the ship with a special scanning device he had been given. He saw that Elantris was talking with Emon Zir. Immediately suspicious, Iraevol hacked into the database which recorded everything and noted that it had been deactivated for that section. Easily overriding the lockouts, Iraevol listened in as Elantris and Emon Zir spoke.
Knowing that he didn't have much time, Iraevol deactivated the entire video, audio, and sensor readouts for the ship and locked them with specially designed encrypted lockouts that would take quite a while to unlock. Then he wiped his computer's hard drive of every bit of information and sent anything that was vitally important back to Subcommander Telarosk.
Moving towards the escape pods, Iraevol activated a command terminal and ordered the vessel to self-destruct. Jumping in the escape pod and launching it, Iraevol watched as the countdown progressed. 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... 0... The Zira exploded violently, huge shards of wreckage only barely missing Iraevol. He then began to broadcast a distress beacon to any ZSN or IGNA vessels within range.

President Carnotaur looked over the latest battle reports from the Rarkyl border. "This is just great..." he muttered. "Four Rarkyl fleets plus a giant armada just happen to decide to attack just when the Ediens decide to strike against the Horosk."
"Sir, we have some good news. The Rarkyl Armada has been stopped at Outpost 52-A. Two new fleets are on the way there, so we should be able to hold that system against any furthur Rarkyl advances," a lieutenant reported. Carnotaur was inside the battle operations bridge on the Federation Dreadnought Aeon , which was helping to coordinate a battle with another Rarkyl task force.
"What about our enhanced quantum weaponry? Was that ever finished?" Carnotaur asked.
"Yes, Mr. President, it was, and it's coming in very useful. It seems the Rarkyl have been upgrading all their weaponry as well, but we still hold a pretty good advantage over them in close-range weaponry with our turrets and cannons. However, they still have slicer beams, and those have been giving us a lot of trouble."
"Good. What else have the Rarkyl been up to?" Carnotaur asked as the dreadnought shook slightly as a squadron of Rarkyl Light Cruisers opened fire on it. The Aeon replied with an enormous barrage of quantum weapons fire, which blasted back the Rarkyl and sent them scurrying for cover. "How soon till our shields recharge to 60% strength?"
"Fifteen to twenty minutes, Mr. President, as long as our light cruiser and destroyer screen can keep those light cruisers off our back," an ensign replied.
"Mr. President, we've detected some large enhancements to Rarkyl battleships lately," the lieutenant continued. "It seems they now have enhanced shielding and armor, as well as enlarge power reactors for emergency reserves. A battleship with no shields can suddenly jump up to 25% strength and dart away before we can take care of it. Some light cruisers also seem to be armed with some kind of disruptor weapon, something like their slicer beam."
Suddenly, Commander Layron walked in. "Mr. President, the Rarkyl formation is started to fold. I ordered a group of my battlecruisers and light cruisers to try and make stab for the middle, and it appears to be working. Also, did you hear about that new weapon of-"
"I already told him, Commander," the lieutenant spoke up.
"Oh, well, anyway, it's really killing us in short-range fighting. Sure, we have a pretty nice superiority in long-range artillary fire, but once the Rarkyl close it, they murder us, even with our enhanced quantum weaponry."
"What do you suggest?" Carnotaur asked.
"Mr. President, shields at 55% strength."
"Thank you ensign."
"I suggest we try and build some kind of close-quarters support warship, sort of like taking a light cruiser, putting better engines on it, removing all its missiles and torpedoes, and stuffing it with as many turrets as we can get. Either that, or develope repulsors. The only problem with repulsors is-"
"Is that Rarkyl shields can invert them with feedback energy pulses," Carnotaur finished. "Yes, commander, I know how much of a pain that can be."
He grinned. "So you tried out some long blasts with a quantum beam cannon?"
"Yes, and it nearly zapped power on two decks. When did the Rarkyl start using that tactic?"
"Only recently. We think it has something to do with a massive reactor overhaul on their entire fleet. All their ships seem to be quicker, more agile, tougher, and with heavier weapons. We're also picking up some strange sub-space readings, so we believe they're using some new kind of Quantum Singularity Reactor core, which gives them a lot more power than their old power generators."
"Mr. President, shields are at 65%, partially due to a generous energy donation from Battlecruiser Group 9. We are ready to re-enter the battle."
"Thank you ensign. Helm, bring us into the battle and head straight for the middle of their lines. Cruiser Groups 15-39, follow me. All availible destroyers take up screening positions around the Aeon ," Carnotaur ordered, keeping a close eye on the viewscreen and a large 3D holographic projection of the battle in the center of the room. "Boy it's good to be back in the midst of the fighting..." Carnotaur said to himself.
The Aeon drove towards the Rarkyl lines like an unstoppable juggernaught, spraying weapons fire into any Rarkyl vessel not quick enough to back away and quick. The Rarkyl tried to counter-attack, but that was stopped by the powerful destroyer and light cruiser screen which protected the giant vessel. Soon, the Rarkyl fleet had taken serious losses, and was forced to retreat. The battle was won.
On orders from Carnotaur, Federation research centers began work on designing a new close-quarters combat vessel, designed to help to better combat the Rarkyl. Also noticing continued upgrades on the design of the Edien Interceptor, the Federation also began work on a new kind of Anti-Fighter and Anti-Gunship missile. Designated the Harpoon Missile, Federation researchers quickly began work on it as well as the new warship.

Okay, one problem here is that the cameras were just switched off. No amount of hacking around is going to change that. It just wasn't recorded (and another little factoid, even though it's not important: the ship's computer automatically re-writes all logs with ZSF/ICO in and makes them "disappear" - they open door, walk through door, speak to someone, walk out, its turned to just a view of an empty corridor (but it's very neatly done, there's no inconsistences)).
A bit more is still underestimating some aspects, but I'll let it pass so you can get out of the ship. I just hope you realise that if I do find you out now, Iraevol is 'gonna die in a blink, and it's war with the Za'Gek.
Ki'Ran System
The remaining 10,000 ships in Ki'Ran immediately realized that they were horribly outgunned and headed full-speed towards the edge of the system. Once far enough away, still blazing away at the swarming Izirions, they hyperspaced out into Outpost Zerash. During the retreat many of their ships were severely damaged and many more were destroyed.
Once at Outpost Zerash, they immediately began construction of two more combat stations and continued to fortify their land defenses. On the planet Ki'Ran, the Akrahd defenders evacuated themselves to vast and deep underground caves and artificial tunnels. Extremely adapted to underground living and warfare, the Akrahd had turned the caves into a death trap for anyone trying to get in with mines, automated defenses, traps, etc. In order to prevent them from being wiped out by an orbiting fleet, the caves were shielded by shield grids and heavy armor, not to mention many of them were too deep to be effected anyway.
The Gamaerans were desperate. They were being assaulted in multiple systems and were loosing at least two of the battles. On the suggest of General Thaeg, the Gamaera Council contacted the Thalleon clan and asked if they could assault the southern flank of Strand League space, possibly causing the Strand League to either retreat or be severely weakened. In the meantime, the Gamaera continued to fortify their defenses and construct warships as quickly as they possibly could. The Gamaera also sent a warning to the Tronoak, but they doubted whether or not the Tronoak would help them.
Hokemrahi System
The Gamaera were outgunned and outmanned, and they knew it, but there was one slight problem. The systems of Silivara, Rahivara, and Hokemvara would be cut off if the Gamaera abandoned Hokemrahi. They had to make a stand, at least for a little while.
The Gamaeran fleet fired off all their missiles and rockets, and then, with railguns blazing, charged in at the Igazradas, but soon found that a rather bad way to approach an Igazrada. Still, the Gamaera fought on, trying to give the other systems a chance to evacuated.
As the bases and colonies were evacuated, their respective defense fleets jumped into Hokemrahi to aid the belegered (sp?) Hokemrahi defense force. Finally, the frieghters had departed, leaving a good deal of stuff behind (all of which was destroyed by explosives), and what remained of the fleet left the system for Siliak. There was practically nothing left of the fleet in Hokemrahi.
Afion Systems
A scout, on orders from Thalleon high command to learn about the defenses of the Afion system, entered the system. Immediately detecting the Kayans and taking a scan of the system, it jumped out. The Thalleon investigated the claim and decided that the Gamaera were not tricking them. The same happened in Gamsis
Without warning, a Thalleon armada of 100,000 vessels jumped into the system. Detecting the Kayan defense fleet, the Thalleon opened fire with all their weapons, charging forward to attack the smaller Kayan fleet.
Splitting up into three prongs, the Thalleon charged into the Kayans from three different vectors, pouring heavy weapons into the enemy. Their railguns proved extremely useful, as did their disruptor weapons. Launching all of their fighters, the Akrahd tried their best to swarm the Kayan Fireflies, but even then fighter combat soon turned out not to be the Akrahds specialty.
Identicle(sp?) events transpired in the Gamsis system, though the Kayans there faired slightly better because they were better prepared.
The armada was equipped with a single new weapon, which helped them in the battle. The Thalleon had just recently completed researching the weapon, designated the Plasma Disruptor. It was designed to use tetryon energy to disrupt plasma energy particles and fire them in a superconsontrated particle beam. When the particles make contact with shielding or matter, the tetryon energy creates small fission reactions by splitting the plasma particles in the beam. This grealty increases the destructive firepower of the weapon. A medium-range beam, the weapon was designed to replace the Plasma Beam, which were powerful but lacked adequate range and accuracy. It had taken a good deal of time to research, but the Thalleon had finally been able to complete it. Already, most plasma beams in the fleet had been replaced.
(OOC: The disruptor is NOT a superweapon. It's just a good, powerful beam weapon.)

The Thalleon commander was extremely confused, and quickly checked with the second 100,000 ship strong armada attacking the Gamsis system. The same was true. No enemy vessels present.
Not wasting any more time, the Thalleon armada opened fire on the planet below. Raining down destruction with their huge weapons compliment, the armada soon reduced the majority of the colony and base to rubble. Talking with the second armada commander briefly, they agreed to consontrate mostly on the enemies shipyards and military facilities, and mostly ignore the civillian population and not worry about reducing the crust to molten slag.
After completing the destruction of Gamsis and Afion, the fleet hyperspaced towards Rossoni. After completing the destruction of the enemy base there, they would continue to attack enemy bases until enemy warfleets arrived or the Strand League was obliterated.

Kayan Supercruiser Shipyard
Melkyat felt trapped. He had to give a good explanation or he'd get caught, and every explanation he thought of always seemed to have one or two flaws. Finally, he came up with one that he decided would be suitable.
"I didn't recognize its species at all. It had many long, somewhat tentacle like legs, with the first two sets having claw-like appendages. Its weapon was completely foreign, and I noticed that as it ran away I believe I saw it activate a cloaking device. I can't say more than that."
He hoped it would be enough...
