Star Wars plug in

Is it just me, or do the lasers on ships not work right on the star wars plug in? I mean, I thought the plug was so cool until I couldn't fire my weapons at anything. Is there a fix for this (I already have the 1.0.3 fix).

I have already made a fix, SW2 2.1. I have had a bit to many problems with uploading it, so I stopped trying. I think someone around here has a copy. I don't remember who though.

Ahh, that's good news. I never got past the Sri'Laak missions before all my weapons stopped working all together. I'll have to download your fix sometimes and see if I get any further. 😉

I had the same problem for a long time. I just played around and eventually it reverted back to normal. Then it screwed up again. Anyway I barely used normal lasers. Mostly turrets, they come in handy near the end.
Some time I just wanrted to blow the plug to hell. It's a good plug tho.

If you still have it could you e-mail it?
Thanks.

I changed a good deal of the plug, like ship resources and such so that there wouldn't be empty boxes and odd little missions everywhere, and it was easier to change the original. This means that, when stuffed, the plugin is 5.3 megs in size. AOL doesn't like files larger than 4 megs. My webserver says the transfer is to large. ASW's site thinks it should be 10k. I am starting to think that the damned plug-in doesn't want to leave my Hard Drive.

What about direct file transfers over AIM or such?

Help us Admiral Benden (Kenobi), you're our only hope!

Please don't give up! Keep trying to get those plans... er, that plug-in to us!

(Okay, I've now exceeded my daily recommended allowance of exclamation points...)

Do you have a copy of StuffIt Deluxe to try a segmented archive?

Or try integrating the fix with the next Extraships plug. Please get this fiz available soon. Some of us (coughmecough) are trying to add little fun things to it like a përs addition plug or something fun like that. Or just tell us how to fix the bugs themselves so we can enjoy the plug.

Cheers,

So, Admiral, what's the word? Have you decided on anything? Let us know, anxious devlopers and players wish to play :D. Oh, and no pressure, right? 😛 Just kidding. 😄 I'm also posting this to put it at the top of the post list so more people will see it and wake this thread up again. 😄

Unfortunately, I cannot use iTools because it requires OS 9. SO thats out. I am trying to figure out how to get Dropstuff to segment files. Telling me how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

So sign for a UnoDrive at (url="http://"http://www.unodrive.com")http://www.unodrive.com(/url)
I can't remember if it gives 10 or 20 Mb...
Then you ask somebody to download the plug and public it into another web.

I don't think DropStuff can segment files. StuffIt Deluxe can, and the old StuffIt Lite could, but I don't think DropStuff lets you.

Hmm... looks like the latest version of Stuffit Lite has indeed been on a diet - it doesn't include the option to segment files. An older version that I had, 3.6, could. Let's check on Google here and see if any are still floating around... this link still seems to work: (url="http://"http://www.jagshouse.com/stuffit.html")http://www.jagshouse.com/stuffit.html(/url).

(fixed link)

Compared to the latest versions of Stuffit it's kind of akward: you'll need to create a new empty archive, add the file(s), then segment it from the Translate menu.

If you still have any problems posting it, I'd be willing to host it on my iDisk. Just send the segments to RogueTen on AOL if you want to.

Heh, good one Ooryl (=Rogue 10, correct?). I was just about to click the post reply button when I realized 3.6 is the version I have. When did they update it? Must have msised it. Oh well. And what you say is right, you have to create the new archive, then choose segment. And since that link doesn't seem to work for me, I could IM you the program, Benden. Just click on the little button.

Yep, those English... er, Basic classes really help Ooryl. (Actually, I just picked Ten because it was the only one available on AOL a few years ago and I liked the idea of being at the lower end of the elite squadron. I guess I'll let Mr. Stackpole keep using the name too. 😉 ).

Oops, looks like I picked up an extra "." at the end of the link there. Here's the direct link to the file at Jag's:

If you need a spot to upload the file, try using a Yahoo Briefcase: (url="http://"http://briefcase.yahoo.com")http://briefcase.yahoo.com(/url)

It's free, and you can store a whole lot!

I REALLY dig the Star Wars Plug-In, and can't wait to try the new version.

On that SW extra ships plug-in that adds the TIE Advanced and Y-Wing... and so on. When I downloaded it it said .sit.bin so is it a a sit or a bin? Stuffit won't unstuff it the way it is with the .sit.bin extension.

UGH whatever you do dont consult the author, hes a b@stard. If you like this Star Wars, the one i am making for Nova will be much better. and MUCH less buggy.
