I'd say that the UE has maybe 600 destroyers, maybe 50 carriers, and something like 2500 fighters.

I think... mabye 450 Carriers, 1000 Destroyers, 5000 Fighters.

Yeah, but you forget that so many are lost to fighting every day. That's why my estimate, coupled with the fact that the UE is pretty small, is so low.
My guess?
Hmmm, let's see here...
United Earth: 150 Carriers, 1000 Destroyers, 6000 Fighters Voinians: 400 Cruisers, 2000 Frigates, 5000 Heavy Fighters, 2000 Interceptors Human Renegades: 100 Turncoats, 350 Helians, 750 Kraits Emalgha: 100 Warships, 400 Fighters Azdgari: 250 Warships, 600 Aradas, 1000 Azdaras Igadzra: 250 Igazras, 1500 Aradas Zidagar: 2000 Zidaras, 5000 Fighters North Tip Renegades: 250 Crescent Warships, 1000 Aradas, 2000 Crescent Fighters, 500 Laziras
That's about how large a navy I've imagined these races / governments owning...

The UE production rate (As a variable: P) vs the loss to fighting, (L) either add or subtract from the current ship numbers, so the current ship number ends up as a variable, too. So the ship # looks alot like this:
(C+P)-L=the new current number of ships.
It is always in flux so nobody knows, or hard to determine unless you have hard facts.
PS: Sorry I was so stastistical.

Captain Skyblade:
I'd say you have pretty decent numbers, except for the renegades. I don't think that they really have a fleet, nor production, so the numbers aren't really static at all.
Im sure the numbers were less before the emalgha and UE and the Hinwar took 4 systems from the Vionians.

Yeah, but I find there are many more north tip renegades than human, so they seem to be quite organized (and have a good, large fleet at the fingertips). None of the renegades really have "production," but the bigger they are, the more ships they can capture...
Personally, I think it's kinda off....
United Earth: 100 Carriers, 1200 Destroyers, 1500 Fighters Voinians: 200 Cruisers, 1000 Frigates, 1500 Heavy Fighters, 750 (new design, remember)Interceptors Human Renegades: 90 Turncoats, 280 Helians, 450 Kraits Emalgha: 100 Warships, 350 Fighters Azdgari: 200 Warships, 500 Aradas, 800 Azdaras Igadzra: 225 Igazras, 1000 Aradas Zidagar: 450 Zidaras, 1100 Fighters North Tip Renegades: 150 Crescent Warships, 80 Aradas, 110 Laziras, 530 Crescent Fighters
I used shipyard counts, avg # of ships per system, strength values (like UE has a lot more than Voinians to make power almost equal), and costs. Remember technologies add to costs, so the Strands would have a lower number but more power. Of course! <waits for the resounding "aaaahhhh">

Thanks all.
Personally, I think 40 carriers, 120 destroyers, and maybe 600 fighters would be about right for the UE.

In total?! Just jumping from system to system, you'd probably see more ... I like Redchigh's numbers best so far. And Skyblade, if there were that many Voinians, the UE would've been dead long, long ago.

Zachit: 200 Zachit Aradas, 500 Zachit Fighters.
Later...
150 Miranu Gunboats, 400 Zachit Aradas, 750 Zachit Fighters..
Verene must've got really excited....
I think the miranu probably have more fighters then anyone else.. They sell their warships...
Pirate: "Bwahahaha! I have over 6000 Crescent warships under my command! Trader: "Cool, you gonna take over the Miranu?" Pirate: "HELL NO! Who do'ya think sold em to me!?"

Perhaps so, but keep in mind the Voinians are fighting a two-front war. I always thought of them as having a huge navy anyway...
I think that, because of the sheer power of their ships, the Voinian Spacy (Spacy? Navy?) would be smaller. Voinian squadrons are numerically smaller than their counterparts. The UE, as it has been said, takes a daily pounding on the frontier, so I can imagine them having to crank out a fair amount of hardware to keep the numbers steady. Remember, the UE relies on numerical superiority when it comes to sorties with the Voinians. I wonder if they even bother to name some, or just call them, for example, Destroyer 219? Maybe they have nicknames, like WWII-era bomber planes. Those blasted renegades rely solely on commercial ships, so all they need to worry about is making enough money to replace those little suicide-boat Kraits that get turned into hors d'eourves when it comes time to battle. I have no clue about any other races, though.

I don't count defence fleets, as they aren't really right (2000 warships defending Earth in EV?). And no, you on average see maybe a destroyer/carrier in each system, which means, by your reasoning, that there are more than 160 systems belonging to the UE.
Well, SilverDragon, keep in mind the ships headed for the front line that the player never sees. I don't think ships headed out to defend the very existance of their species would just meander around like that..
Of course.
But I can't see there being hundreds upon hundreds of vessels like that.
And anyway, if you look at my figures, they easily include enough room for front line forces as well.

Well, maybe your game is different or something, but I usually see way more.

Like MacCabe said, the Voinians probably have fewer (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard2.html#voinian")ships(/url), because each is more powerful than its (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosie/shipyard1.html#uemilitary")UE(/url) counterpart.
