I was looking at something called forges homepage, and I saw that the Azdara doesn´t have any armor this seems a little weird. Are they made of cardboard or something, or have they never been in battle with the voinians?

Crescent ships are made of metal alloys they use very efficient shields they don't need armor the crescent races have never encountered the Voinians please use complete sentences and punctuation your messages are very hard to read.

And I wrote my response too fast. I should not have criticized your writing so harshly, the meaning was clear.
I had intended to edit the message to remove the offensive comment, but since you have already seen it that would be pointless.
And if you'll notice, Crescent Fighters don't have armor either. Basically this just means that you can't disable them and board them, they just blow up as soon as their shields are down.

I found it interesting that Joe used a run on sentence to reply to Desert-Rat. There really should be a period and a capitalization between the "Voinians" and "please". Off course, I could be off base and the error could apart of the point of the message. Anyway, I think the reason that the azdara's do not have shielding is because if they did then you could capture the enhanced version and then put a shield regenerator on board. That would be a pretty unfair ship to have.
The enhanced Arada has a shield recharge of one... So, why do I have it as my ship (without cheats).

The enhanced (i)Arada(/b) has armor -- ten, the same as a normal Arada. The enhanced Azdara doesn't, possibly for jubee's reasons.

Okay, enough of that irritating typing. To be frank, I don't see why anyone got on his case in the first post. To me, it looks like his post was missing a single comma...so was the response. Anyways... no, certian crescent ships have no armor at all.
Kinda makes you wonder if the pilots have to be careful not to lean too hard against the side of their ship, huh?

Well, if you think about it you could make a fighter having no armor analagous to a boat having no armor. While a regular speedboat has no specific armor it still holds itself together just fine under high-speed conditions. Same goes for an Azdara or Crescent Fighter.
A battleship or aircraft carrier however has armor playing in addition to a regular structural skin so that it might better withstand the pressures of being hit by a missiles or gunfire. Same goes for a cruiser or carrier in the game.
So armor isn't necessary except as a defense mechanism. It has nothing to do with the ship's structural stability.
Yes you are right. Highspeed construction are normally pretty weak but un, formula 1 racer has alot of armor

Have a look in the shipyard descs? Or maybe it's the landing text at Kelmaon. Lots of us have acquired a belief that Emalgha ships are wooden... from somewhere!
