I pull names out of my black hole all the time. Here are a few.....
Freighters or other blocky, useless ships: "Brick with Wings," "Irish Confetti" (a joke about the 20's, no offense intended; hey, I'M part Irish!), "The Hauler"
Fighters: "Mosquito," "The Ka" (Japanese for "mosquito" ), "Pestering Swab"
Battleships, etc.: "Argama," "Ra Cailum," or even a parody on "White Base" (so I got carried away..... :eek: )
Mobile suits, mobile armors (irrelevant, but my favorite!): "Fugly," "Mystalaervs," "Shoescar," "Rhadamantum," "Ostrakon," "Podarge," "Gagged Doc" (for my customized Bound Doc..... get it?), "Erinyes"......... The list goes on and on and on..........

My Ships are either called 'DarkStar' or 'Wrath Of Hades'.

Well now, at least I am uncreative. My shuttle is Thunder I, my scoutship is Thunder II, and usually by the time I have a Cruiser I am either Thunder IV or Thunder V.

I try to name my ships 'Jack's ---- So Hands Off! This Means You!' In the blanks I insert the type of ship I'm using, for example, 'Jack's Shuttle So Hands Off! This Means You!'
Since this won't fit in the name box, I usually shorten the name to J-Mobile, or Jack-Mobile. I tried names like, 'My other ship is also an Azdara' but that wouldn't fit either. If I ever get a UE Carrier, or a UE Cruiser, I name my ship, 'Larger than thou', and then find some small planets to cower over.
My most favorite names are,
Fist From the Heavens Hand of God III (never I or II, always III, sometimes IV or V) Ol' Faithful (good name for any emalghia craft) Skip Nova (before I knew about EVN) Prid of Sol (typo) Prde of Sol (after I fixed the typo) Honey (the name of my dog) Betta Rmrbchsuit (a reminder to practice Bach's unaccompanied Cello Suite number 2, in D minor. It never worked.) Lynyrd Squeazebox Layla Big Jim (the last four names are musically inspired. See if you can match the artist to the ship)

I have done lots of random ones, but in Frozen Heart, I'm using names that all end with Bucket.
Leaky Bucket, Rust Bucket, and my Tachyonic Fighter is the Fast Bucket.
