Alright, so we've all made our choices and opinions for the Krait and Voinian Interceptor, but some of the other topics have once again had be wandering. Many of you may already be thinking "the Arada is much more powerful than the Azdara," but this topic is suppost to go beyond these two ships' normal capabilities. Sure, the Arada can certainly pack more punch with those dispersal rockets (or pursuit missiles) and combined phase cannons, but that Azdara can certainly tear an Arada to shreds in the right hands. It all boils down to speed vs. strength.
Come along and join the topic, just make sure you make your decisions and opinions of these two vessels based on them being controlled by human players. None of this AI stuff...
I myself am a natural Azdara fan, always grabbing the chance to use the ultimate speed warrior of the galaxy. With a few upgrades, armor, and a nasty amount of phase cannons, I can easilly whoop those renegade (and sometimes Igadzra) Aradas. But those dispersal rockets hurt...
By the way, I like the Arada as well. Post away!

well, you can prob guess i like arada. I get all 4 speed upgrades and it's a lot faster than many fighters, plus it packs a huge punch and is hard to kill. It is the perfect ship (in human hands at least). It helps to have some gov outfits on it, UE miranu and azzie combined are best.

Now why would your prefer the Arada? Does your username have anything to do with it?
The Azdara is somewhat limited in terms of space, but with upgrades, than thing leaves an Arada in the dust. It can easilly fly circles around Aradas of all governments, dodging the rockets as they come...

The short answer is that the Arada is better in the hands of the player because so much more can be done with it. Though a well-upgraded Azdara rules, I prefer versatility in what I fly. The long answer is--well, long, and I'll probably post it later.

When you say "more can be done," I believe you are speaking of the advantage the Arada holds in cargo and weapons space?
If some kind of Human vs. Human battle could be arranged, I would put my money on the upgraded Arada vs an upgraded Azdara. Sure enough an Azdara can fly circles around any old Arada, but a capable human pilot should still be able to throw in his much heavier fire power and eliminate the light fighter craft. Better weapons and better shields meets sheer speed. You know my answer

Azdaras may be fast, but they are weak and cannot be upgraded well. I piloted one once, and switched back to a Crescent Fighter afterwards.

The Arada certainly does hold an edge in firepower, but I don't believe the space restrictions of the Azdara make it unfit to fight Aradas. But as many of us know, the Azdara almost always attacks in packs...
But we were only talking about human players...
Anyways, I prefer the arada. Just all around better.

Better shield recharge? Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I believe nothing can beat the shield recharge rate of the Azdara (unless you are using cheats to get extra numbers of shield upgrades and enhancers ;)).

The enhanced arada has a shield recharge of 1 - the azdara has a shield recharge of 4...
Anyway, you have to capture the EA to be able to use it, but it can be used none the less
It all depends on the situation they're being used in.

In a human vs. human battle , I'd bet on the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard4.html#azdara")Azdara(/url), just because of its higher shield recharge and the fact that it can strafe opponents very effectively. For anything else, though, the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/shipyard3.html#arada")Arada(/url) is much better, because of its much greater versatility.
