It's called Blueprint. It's going to be a game with an ingenius storyline, graphics, and features. For one thing-it's going to be all of the following:

-A flight sim
-1st person shooter
-puzzle game
-and overall multi-moded play RPG

There's a logo at the above url for it. It's a long way away though. . .it's also going to be practically EVO in 3D, but with different names, and a few more different/more or less add ons to make it legal. 😄

Yes, the story itself I am currently writing. Although, at the moment is a paltry 6 pages, the entire plot has been planned out. I'm not at liberty to discuss it, but you guys will have a hell of a time! 😃 We plan for gameplay to be relatively like EV, but it'll be 3D, and sorta like a flight sim. The game will still be somewhat based around missions, though, since they are what progress the story, like EV and EVO. And, as Jake101 stated, it will be multiplayer. That probably won't be integrated into the story, as more players will make some of the missions impossible, while others will be too easy. So, yeah. Story won't be out for a while. A LONG while. But, it will come out. Eventually. 😃

Yes. And you know- a 3D EV. . .it's not like it hasn't been thought of before. If only you would have been here a few years ago when that subject came up. . .those were the days.

There is a 3D EV. Have none of you played Elite or Elite 2? EV was SO based on those games... Look at the rating system.
Elite (from what I can remember):
Harmless
Mostly Harmless
Average
Above Average
Competent
Dangerous
Deadly
Elite

EVO:
Harmless
Mostly Harmless
Average
Above Average
Competent
Dangerous
Deadly
Ultimate

I may be wrong about some of those, but it was basically the same. Honestly, if you want a 3D EV type game, I think Frontier Elite 2 is about the closest you'll come.

But nothing is truely the same as EV.

Very well said, Jake. 😉

This 'Blueprint' seems rather interesting, and actually, my brother and one of his friends started to make something like it (though they never succeeded in even beginning; they didn't even think they'd even start ;)), but they had something that added the elements of EV to it: In warships that you were piloting, it would be a top-down view, while in fighters that you were piloting, it would be a 3d world.

I'm delighted to find that somebody else remembers Bell and Braben's awesome Elite. The computer game which reversed the decline of the ageing BBC-B microcomputer. (The one with a massive 32K of RAM.) I loved Elite, with its challenging space combats, commerce, ship upgrades and missions. I am certain that Elite was one of EV's ancestors... even though it only uses a 2D flight system. (What do you expect in shareware?) It's great to have a lot of missions in EV, though... most versions of Elite only had two or three special missions.

Personally, I think that this is a great idea, only it should include a new storyline and ships.

As far as I know, Elite 2 has many more missions than Elite 1. The only mission I ever gElite was one to get a cloaking device...

Lord Gwydion-
You also have to keep in mind that all I told you, or anyone about was the different modes of play and planned features. That's not even the half of it. The interaction and complexity of the game and story itself is really what will draw players into it. Heck-the reason I hate some of these people who say "2D" games suck is because they don't know what a good 2D game is. I think the best two games out there that are 2D are Metroid 3 and EVO(which will be replaced by EVN. ;)) It's not the graphics, or the features, it's the involvement that the player has with the game. Once you get that in at least one area, and you get it good, you've got that player. And that's exactly what GS is going to try to do with all of our original downloads and games.

Wow. . .some would say I sound like a game developer already. 😉
