I'd have to vote for Frozen Heart and F.F. because they do not consist of "go to system X and destroy 244 alien Cruisers". Repeated interminably for 32 missions. In the old EV I admired Eye of Orion for the same reason.
And there was an excellent plug which was never completed, "Xian". Total replacement, very good landing pics, interesting galaxy and very good missons and clues to what further missions would have been. A great loss.
Most plugs are simply shooting galleries. And yes, I know I am not smart enough to develop a plug myself.

I'd go with the Reign of the Voinians plugs. They were just immensly fun to play, and I think that they're good enough to actually be included as part of the main game.... it needs an ending to the voinian string, anyway.....

I didn't really like Frozen Heart all that much, since many of the ships (especially Rigellion) were so ugly. The Bucaneer was about the only ship I flew before I stopped using the plug.

That's true (we won't be suffering from that particular problem, I trust), but it made up for it in its missions.

Yes, now I do have to give the missions in Frozen Heart some credit...They were pretty good.
So what you are mean is that FH was too intelligent and not pretty enough?

Hehe...Well, you have to admit that all players like a nice-looking ship. The missions were good in Frozen Heart, but the ships made the game kinda...I don't know. Boring? Now I did like the Gun Platforms...
So the wheel has come full circle.
When FH was launched, there was a lot of marvelling at the graphics, and a fair amount of 'these missions are too difficult - no-one will ever finish this plugin'.
The good news is that I've remade most of the graphics for FH 2, which I'm guessing will be exclusively EV:N, as 16 bit will do wonders for the quality.
The bad news is that I'm fighting a parliamentary election (any offers of help from the Brits...) and it's occupying all my time (in fact, I've even booked a month or so off work for it).

The Frozen Heart gets my vote. It's like a whole new Escape Velocity game; new galaxy, newships, new everything. It's cool.
Currently, my vote has to be Frozen Heart. It's the only one I've played that has no major bugs in it.

I have to say MAGMA and reign of the UE. I simply cannot live without MAGMA, everything else seems dull. Of courser, it is harder for plug-ins
I also liked Overflow 1942, but it wasn't finished and/or it had a lot of bugs. Someone should finish it
There are some cool plugs in development, like the Dreden War, even though I haven't heard much about it, people say that it is going to be cool. I am also awaiting the release of the SW 2 Fixer, which should fix all those annoying bugs!

FH...you just can't beat it. Props to MT. Although, I did have problems with the map once. Some sort of screwup on the map where the links between systems were missing. Verrry wierd. Never got an anwswer from anyone....Martin?

Yeah, I suppose "shine-up" is actually a fairly accurate phrase, but that certainly isn't the full extent of it. In addition to improving things in general, all of the missions are being re-written from the bottom up. But sorry, at this point, it's a closed beta and is most likely to stay that way...

And it's not **********. I honestly don't think F-25 1.4 deserves to be in the same category as FH.. F-25 was very good, but it didn't have the finish or polish that FH did, which is something that has changed with the new version. When will you see it? Very soon.

Sheez! Hasent anyone played Pale ? Its the best, and definently gets my vote. For my second, I'm gonna choose babylon 5 cause I like the Minbari Cruiser( even though you hafta capture it ).
