Well, the SW 1.0.3 plug is in the Override section and doesn't seem to work in EV. However, I contacted the maker of the plug, and they said it was made for use with EV! The plug author, though talented, wasn't very helpful - basically said: "I have nothing to do with that plug anymore. Who gave you my new email address?!!". So I'm asking you nice people and aliens here on the board for help. I'm fine with running the plug on either EV or EVO, but my problems goes as such:
1 Original EVO ships (Aradas, Miranu Gunships, etc.) appear in the EVO SW shipyards! They appear as blank ship boxes below the SW ships. When you click on these boxes, sometimes there will be a graphic; sometimes there will be a description; and sometimes there will be nothing at all. I seem to remember that all these phantom ships had a listing of 0 for most all the things in their status display.
2 The same problem as above, except for outfits.
3 Missions asking you to take cargo to ports that are nonexistent.
The next bunch of problems are probably inherent in the plug itself and not to do with the EV / EVO switch up:
4 The escorts for the escort missions won't leave you or pay you once you take them to their requested destination.
5 Enemy ships are disable very late (maybe 5 or 10% armor).
7 Finally, shield related upgrades do nothing.
Any help is really appreciated.

You gotta be kidding me!? Then why was Star Wars 1.0.3. listed under the EVO downloads? That's got me puzzled...

Yeah, it's got me puzzled too. The author said something like this: "Did it say for us with EVO, no!"
Just wish I could get these problems fixed.

Well I wish the creators had posted something at the boards, atleast, explaining the mixup. Have you actually tried playing Star Wars 1.0.3. in EV, and if so, how does it work?

I've tried to play it in EV as the author said, but it just doesn't do anything. You put the plug into the EV plug folder, and the EV universe is unchanged.

Hmmm...Have you actually asked the creator about that one? I would say, "Ok, if you made this plug for EV, then how come it works better in Override then it does in EV?" That's silly, if it was created for EV, then it should have no problems running whatsoever.

The first thing I did was ask (I asked the author before I was a member here), but as I said, the author was quite unwilling to help.
Summary of what author said: "I'm through with that plug! leave me alone! How did you get my new email address!" So much for help from that person.
Wow. Some helpful guy. Usually, the plugin developers are real open to helping out people with questions and problems. But the creator of the Star Wars plugin sounded more like he didn't want to admit he had messed up, and was content to get rid of people bothering him. Nice guy.
I have also experienced problems with SW2. For some reason, all the turrets have blind spots to the sides and back, the final Imperial mission doesn't do anything but let you kill a lot of ships, and if I die and reload, only a few of my escorts are with me. Along with the problems you metioned I have had these. Any answers?

That's what my turrets did for awhile. When I bought my Correlian Freighter and fitted it with three quad laser turrets, I had to turn my ship sideways before they would fire. Now, none of the weapons work at all on my machine. Gggrrrrr....

Have you guys tried downloading the bug fix plugs for SW2? There are about 1 or 2 of them for SW2: 1.0.2. Also, SW3 was abandoned in alpha because the developer lost interest in making the plug, and you know what?? He had gotten all us fans of SW2 all hyped up about it and then he hit us with a bomb shell that he was abonding the plug, that it was in alpha and we were free to download it and that we had to have it in the plug-ins folder with SW2 for SW3 to work. Heh, some guy, he should've finished what he started. What a responsible fellow . Ah well . . . its been over for a long while now, lets not stay mad at him, even though he rudely said "get out of my face. I'm finished with that plug and how'd you know where I was hiding?"

The only fix I've tried using is the one that comes with Star Wars when you download it...It hasn't worked, though. Is that one of the fixes you are talking about?
And I had no idea about the Star Wars for Nova. Some nice guy to drop the project like that. If he wasn't going to finish the plug, then he shouldn't have released the news of the project to the public.

Oh it wasn't for Nova at all, I don't even think the word EV: Nova has even reached our ears when he dropped it. SW3 was to be a sequel to SW2, it was going to include missions based on Kevin J. Anderson's Jedi Academy trilogy (may his Jedi Academy trilogy rot, its only saving grace is that Micheal A. Stackpole made it only relatively better in "I, Jedi") and the most glorious Star Wars comic series, Dark Empire, Dark Empire II and Empire's End. Also, the famous ships in these were to be in SW3, but the developer just dropped it, but said that if anyone wanted to finish it, they could, but he didn't care. And the fix I was talking about is the one that is supposed to come, but I think there's another, but I'm not sure. I should work, the SW2 TC plug has always worked for me.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into getting one of the fixes so I can actually play Star Wars. As far as SW3 is concerned, has anyone else yet taken up the project?
The Star Wars plugin that you seem to be talking about was originally for EV, not EVO. My guess is that somebody tried to port it to EVO, and posted it to the addons page, but ported it badly. You should try to find the original EV version. (sorry, I don't have it any more, I lost it when my Quadra 660av crashed a few years ago)

I have the EVO ported version AND the original EV version and both work. Maybe when the EVO site as it is now was put up in replacement from the old one, the person who uploaded the SW2 for EVO did a bad job of it. Mine works fine. But here's a hint: read the read me's b/c they might tell you to increase memory size or to not have any other plugs in the plug-ins folder. I don't know b/c I haven't played the plug in such a long time. Or have you people read the plug in's read me's? Oh and when I say "read me's" I mean it as the plural of "read me", b/c "read mes" looks wrong - just an FYI.
-Jedibrass
Yeah, I read the read-me's. One of the RMs said that the author's original SW plug for EV was "just a half-aed job" and that this one is a real conversion. Whenever I run SW (on EVO), I have only the SW plug and the stock plug that comes with EVO in the plug-ins folder. I don't remember having the "turret blind spots" you people are talking about, though. Must be annoying. There's really a version of SW 1.0.3 for EV? I did have that "half ased" one, but I haven't found the newer one as a plug for EV. I guess I'll go search the labrynth of the EV plug library again. Maybe I'll find it by next month.

Quadra? Wow...I remember the days when those were the talk-of-technology. Yes, I've played the original Star Wars plguin for EV, and I loved it. At least there were no bugs...

Ok, i cant work out how to do quotes but never mind, about the 'bug' of being disabled at 10 to 15 % armour, thats what they do anyway. i just downloaded a plug to display armour percent off the download page, because i had to fight the Voinians to start f-25 and they get disabled at 10%, so that, technically, isn't a bug. But i still thought it was **** anyway, as the maker couldn't be bothered in the first place and it's only selling (read: how so many people downloaded it) point was being based on Star Wars.
