Ok, I've had it...
How many of you people out there are sick of polls all over the board? Sure, I used to post a lot of polls, till I realized how annoying they could get, especially when you see the same poll over and over. This is the poll on polls! Post a reply and say "Yes" if you're plain sick of them, and "No" if you want to continue seeing them. Sure, polls can be fun, but not when they get out of hand. I even enjoy them...Sometimes. So, have you about had it with polls?

This exact same thing happened a few months ago. A bunch of newbies arrived just as there were a few polls on the boards, and next thing you know there are 7 or 8 polls! Eeek! Fortunately, it subsided. It looks to me like we're going in stages.

Yeap, I remember that. That was the time I got really sick of every other subject being a "poll..." But once again, ambrosia outa make a page for just polls, so members can go there if they feel like participating in a poll.
I think posting a new poll on any board other then B&B; should be grounds for a Karma deduction (unless it's somthing really original). Polls serve absolutely no usefull purpose at all, and force other, more interesting topics to the bottom of the pile. 1 vote for banning polls.

Polls are okay if there isn't alot of them at one time.

I can stand them. I just never bother looking at them. You can't really just go and ban them, I don't think, no matter how much you dislike them. Everything in moderation. Maybe if they get too out of hand, jude or someone will shut them down. That's how the bars always seemed to end. Then again, they'll probably just die all by themselves. I DO think there should be a penalty for reviving a poll more than 3 days old.

Ease up. Polls can be fun, and even ones that have been done a lot can generate interesting discussions by long-time board members who are trying to come up with a new take on the topic or by newbies who may provide a fresh insight. So long as the board is not flooded by polls asking the same thing, I think it's easy enough to avoid them if you want to.
Anyway, think of it this way, even if mostly newbies answer the polls, it's fun for them Didn't you like giving your opinion when you first starting posting here?
So, if the polls are EV/O or Mac computer related, and so long as they stay civil and don't flood the boards, I think we should tolerate them (or even add a post with new insight!). Jude

Well, andrew is the only one (I think) who can start up a new board. I don't really think it's necessary yet, and I foresee problems with a multi-game poll board, because I think it might get confusing sometimes about which game you were referring to. Also, people might also use the board as an excuse to spam and flame, and basically make it a very unpleasant place to go. I really believe that the polls should stay on the boards of the games they refer to, but that is my opinion. Jude

Good point. Once again, I know little of what I asked, and the explanation sounded good and logical. I've been noticing more flames lately with polls, but I guess making a board for polls wouldn't help much at all. Even places like the Image Gallery...Two people at the Image Gallery have been flaming each other pretty badly under the "Dragon Destroyer" topic, and I was even a bit surprised to see a moderator post a comment that didn't help the situation much at all. I find places like "Banter and Brawl" a repulsive place to go, but all this is my own opinion. That board is designed to be that way. Thanks for your post!
