Okay here is my idea for a litte EVO Web board Challange. I'm not sure if this has been done before or if it will be all the interesting or exciting, or if it will work at all. But it's just an idea.
Okay, well there would be this plug with a couple systems (or just one) and when you start a new pilot it begins you with a certain outfitted ship. Then you demand tribute from one of the planets and one by one they would send out a certain beefed out ship. You see how long you last and count how many ships you killed then report it back on the EVO Web board and we'll compare scores. Now I know people could cheat VERY easily but how about it? It would be fun to see how good people really are compared to others. Any suggestions or critisism?

Alright... if enough people would like to participate I'll get started on the plug-in.
Wait for at least about 10 people--about half the people who regularly post on this board (I think, at least)--to show support before starting. Waste of effort otherwise... Of course, that's probably what you meant anyway.

Sounds promising.
What about upgrades? It would be cool if we could influence the properties of our ship. You could provide three basic ships (fast-recharging fighter, swift frigate, heavy cruiser) that come with no weapons. Then you provide a selection of well-balanced weaponry to choose from. The heavy ships will have more space for weapons but will be sitting ducks.
This way, you could outfit your ship according to your tactics, and adapt their equipment according to the enemy. Of course, the enemies should differ widely, e.g. there would be one with a powerful but short-ranged beam weapon, an extremely fast fighter, or a dreadnaught full of torpedoes...

Okay well I'm starting on the plug-in and I'll give a little progress report every so often although it shouldn't take to much time...
You can always make them have proof somehow, and there are ways to lock the plugin so it can't be edited, right?
Anyway, i'll want to see it first before a total commitment, but count me in.
