I'm working on wrapping up (finally!) all of the product page conversions to the new format, and in my census, I notice that the (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/games/evo/screenshots.html")EV Override Screenshots(/url) web page is a bit spartan.
So, EV Override fans, if you have any cool EVO screenshots, kindly send them to me at:
(url="http://"mailto:andrew@lgm.com")mailto:andrew@lgm.com(/url)andrew@lgm.com
ummm... what screen shots would we really have? From what I know (and hear from everyone else), it's impossible to take screen snapshots while the actual game is playing... you need to hit the "mission info" key or the "player info" key to get it to pause.... so, that rules out all cool lookin' battles or explosions (they're all centered on the screen, right where the mission/player info pop up to....)
I have some images of the UE scoutships outside of UE space dropping little hints to the players about the existence of other races...

but, none of those could really be featured on the EVO snapshot page... that's why I'm not emailing them in... I dunno.. maybe I'm mistaken, maybe there is some way to get a snapshot of the moving game, and then I'd feel dumb... but, I don't know....

Ambrosia taketh away, Ambrosia giveth back. Snapz can take snapshots of just about anything, including EV in-game, I believe.

How? It doesn't work for me, what am I doing wrong?
Weepul, I'm pretty sure that Snapz does the same thing as normal screen snapshot function thingy. (hence, no in-game)

Untrue -- Snapz Pro can indeed take screenshots in the game.

My computer lets me take screenshots in the game. It is some key combo like cntrl-shift-3.

That's what everyone's talking about . You can't take them in-game -- try it. You have to communicate with a ship/planet, or hit mission info or something to take a picture.

Well.. andrew just said that you can, but even when I was using Snapz Pro, I can't.... Andrew, are you totally sure? I know that's a dumb question, but it really doesn't work for me.....

Andrew please tell us why it won't work! It only works for some people and I'm not one of them.
Please andrew... we are your children... we require worldly knowledge and much shaping and molding
but, seriously... how do you take a picture of the actual moving game? Whenever I press ****-apple-3, I fire off my secondary and nothing else happens and no picture is taken... is there a special version of Snapz? Or does only the full version let you take moving snaps? That's prolly it, now that I think about it
heh... well, we know what's on my mind... instead of typing "shift-apple-3" I typed "shît-apple-3"... I think I type that word too much
Doesn't Snapz leave a big blue shadow on your pics, any way to get rid of that?
Yeah, it's called "registering it"
In EV Override, Snapz Pro can have trouble taking screenshots on some machines, but only the PPC-native versin of EV Override. Here's how to make a non-native version, so you can take screenshots with Snapz Pro 2:
You'll now be able to take pics from within your modified version of EV Override using Snapz Pro 2.
...and if you get a big blue watermark over your screen captures, you need to pay for Snapz Pro 2.

I wouldn't know-- I registered SnapzPro as soon as I downloaded it.

I don't need to register it because I wouldn't make sufficient use of it. I was just wondering for the purpose of taking some screenshots whether there is a way I could do it, obviously not, will I be able to take in game shots on OS X with the grab app?
