Question about dominating planets...

I have a small question on how to approach dominating planets. It would really help if someone explained the process in short for me 😛 I demand tribute from a planet, and then they send out their defense. I was wondering, is there any way to tell how many of their ships I have destroyed? And, do I have to stay in that system until I wipe out all of the ships, or can I return without haveing to beat all the sips again ( say, I desroyed 5 ships, and I left the system- would I need to some back and do that all over again?) Sorry if the question is a bit unclear.

Apparently in Nova, you can leave the system and return. You can even land in another system I think, and then return to the system and continue to wreak havoc. I don't think you could do this in EVC or EVO.

Also, it's a good idea to keep a good distance from the planet/station. This ensures that the ships attacking you come in a steady stream all in one direction, rather than attacking you from all sides.

Good Luck

Yes.

It's tough. If you want to cheat though, I made a plug-in for it. The Takeitover Package.

Enjoy.

Actually, I believe this does apply to EVC and EVO. But regardless which game you're playing, the defense fleets do regenerate over time -- of course unless you're counting (and you can figure out the EVC and EVN defense fleet sizes here).

(Edit) And welcome to the boards! (/Edit)

I've captured everything except Sol, Palshife, Ruby, and Atroops. The best way to capture is to get the cloaking device (cheapness I know), get 6 escorts (my favorite, Confed frigates or stronger), and then demand tribute, cloak, and watch the fun.

Note: Atroops is glitching on me. I mentioned it in an earlier topic I started. Just look for it. And it explains the glitch.

Well, the destoryers come out one by one. It's so confusing. I'm not a noob. I captured everything else except Palshife, Sol, Ruby, and Atroops. <_< . It's ok. It ain't that important. Thanks for your advice anyway guys. 😄

It might be a corrupted data file, too. But I'd have to check on that. No, there is no plug-ins. Just the regular version for Mac. 😛

I noticed while playing EVC that if all ships in a planet's defense wave explode at exactly the same time, itr won't send out more unless you demand tribute again. Found this out while using Space Bombs to lay waste to the pirate harbors' defense fleets, which consist entirely of Rapiers.

Since the Atropos fleet is one single Destroyer at a time, you'd be destroying the entire wave at once every time.

I know. But it's an infinate thing. It keeps on repeating. Let me just keep trying.

Heh, I actually dominated the entire galaxy once upon a time (say, nearly a decade ago now). I might add that it was the biggest waist of time. Ever. 😉

Nothing is infinite. The maximum defense fleet size is 3,276 ships.

And yes, as Skyblade said, it's not really worth it -- once you finish, well, you've finished. No one to pat you on the back or anything. Disappointing really. So disappointing that I've never even attempted conquering more than a couple planets in any pilot file.

It's boring, I know. But what else have I got to do. Plus, I can laugh in my brother's faces for a while if I beat it. I know it's boring, but I like doing I like doing it anyway.
