If it is a completely new game, giving credit is also a practice generally expected.

By "non-commercial" do you mean you can't sell the game with trinity graphics, but you can still post it on the internet for people to download for free? or is that also considered commercial? thanx

Commercial indicates that you are selling the game.

Free distribution, aka. "Freeware," is acceptable. Shareware is questionable and I would secure permission beforehand.

I think the graphics that come on the CD should be credited, and I also think that it's ok to release a game containing them as shareware, I'd secure permission from ASW before you put it up for sale though.

Pretty much.

There is an all encompassing license that if you are making a freeware game then you are free to use the engine and graphics without permission(you already have it).

If you are selling your game then you had best secure permission, in writing, from Ambrosia Software to avoid any potential lawsuits from copyright violations. You can contact ASW by e-mailing help@ambrosiasw.com.

Um, I read that if you make EITHER a freeware or shareware game, you don't need permission. And that shareware is like POG; you can try it out before you pay for it.

From the "Coldstone License":
Games and plugins created by Coldstone may be distributed non-commercially at no cost; shareware distribution of games and plugins created by Coldstone are likewise free of charge.

I would assume this license applies also to the Coldstone Art Lib and Audio Lib, given that they are part of Coldstone. So any use of the Coldstone Art Lib and Audio Lib in freeware or shareware is OK.

From the Trinity Unleashed "License and Instructions":
You are free to use or modify the contents of the "Trinity Plugin src" at will providing that you don't make any profit out of the original package, any part of the original package, or any part of the results of your modifications.

So the files from Trinity Unleashed can only be used in freeware, and not in shareware.
