You don't have novatools properly installed and/or the shďp template is the likley cause here.Since resedit cannnot find a template for the data it just dumps the hex code.

Get EVNEW then try it if you already have EVNEW the re install it ( download it a second time) then you should be able to edit. after you have correctly installed EVNEW click file, open, then find an EVN REZ file that you wish to edit...
P.S. this is from personal experience: always save as a copy or as number "2" of a file until you have tested the end result and are happy with it(go to rename then add a "2" at the end of the file name).

sigh EVNEW is for Windows. It is ONLY for Windows. ResEdit is for Mac. Therefore, he must have a Mac. Therefore, he cannot use EVNEW, nor would he be opening .rez files.
