Development Team wanted / Wouldn't this be great / Can anyone write my term paper

When I used to play Swoop a number of years ago, I thought the track used during gameplay was pretty good for in-game fighting. It was called 'Flight of the Killer Parrots' or something.

Well anything played solo on the violin tends to sound rather sentimental. 😛 Ode To Joy, in a full and proper orchestration with a fair-sized choir, is a very, shall we say, joyful piece? Especially once the vocalists join in...
(minor musical point: The Moonlight Sonata isn't a song... Actually the very word "sonata" means something played rather than sung. 🙂 )
Some pieces that one might consider "sad" get a great deal of use in action scenes in movies. The "Dies Irae" from Mozart's "Requiem" is used quite frequently when intense emotion accompanies an action sequence.

(yes, this really can be justified in the context of EV development! Some passer-through might be inspired to utilize some classical piece in his/her next plug...)

More on topic - I find the sounds in a plug to be largely secondary. Still, very cool-sounding weapon fire and such can really add to a plug. On the other end of the spectrum, the sound of entering hyperspace in the original EV still bothers me... it's so loud.**

When I said "song," I was using it as a general term for a muical number. 🙂

Episode 22. It was the 15th angel, which mind-rapes Asuka from orbit before Rei punctures it with the Lance of Longinus.

The music works because it's a hideously ironic counterpoint to the trauma the main character is going through on-screen.

translating it's easy, just use short words, transpose letters, capitalise in surprising places, and sprinkle liberally with omgwtflol.

Making it look like what an English-speaking guy would expect is actually a bit hard for me, and I end up no longer understanding what I write, I'm not used enough to it!

Try it anyway. The idea is that it's just about comprehensible, but only just. A French version of English AOLspeak would fit that quite well, I suspect. 🙂

Heh, yeah Mazca, it's easy to translate from Engilsh to AOL speech, but it's impossible to translate back accurately. You can get the original idea, but not the original message.

(NOTE: the following paragraph has nothing to do with anything and is just random thoughts)

English:
Hello, what is your name? My name is Brian. Isn't that a nice name? I think so. Is your name Jim? Mine isn't. Bob, perhaps? Or maybe it's George?

AOL Speech:
OMG wtf LoL wtf ur nam MIN brian wTf lol omg ISNT it nice oMg lol WtF i THINK so is UR nam OmG wtf LOL jim cuz mIn AiNt omg wtf omg IS it omg GAY bob omg wtF!!!!! lol or mayb georg LoL omg wtf!!!

English:
What is your name? Mine's Brian. Isn't it nice? I think so. Is your name Jim? Mine isn't. Is it Bob, or maybe George?

See the difference? It's like using an online translator to translate from English to French, then back to English. Lookie:

English: I like to eat pie. Don't you? Pie is good. I especially love pumpkin pie.
French: J'aime manger le pâté en croűte. Pas vous? Le pâté en croűte est bon. J'aime particuličrement le pâté en croűte de potiron.
English: I like to eat meat pie. Not you? The meat pie is good. I particularly like meat pie of pumpkin.

Looks at translation Now THAT'S funny.

Du PÂTÉ EN CROŰTE DE POTIRON!!?!! huh, I'm not felling quite right now -vomits-
Hey, but there's the wonderful (url="http://"http://ssshotaru.homestead.com/files/aolertranslator.html")english to twelve year old AOLer translator(/url), so let's translate K with it:

K OMG CANT MAT BURCH MAEK DA ENGIEN SUPORTS SHIP MUTATION SO TAHT I CAN HAEV MAH SHIPS TAHT GET ANGREIR AND NASTEIR AACH TIEM I FIER RADIATIONS ON TH3M IT WUD B COL O AND BTW IT SHUD HAEV THIS OTH3R RANDOM FAATUR3 I LIEK SO WUT R U WATENG MAT I WANT TAHT!!!!1!11!1!!!!!1!!1!1 OMG WTF

But it has some drawbacks for me: first I understand it not very well (What the f*ck does WTF means, was I wondering not that long ago), second it is only uppercase, not very varied, and lastly it is too predictive.
Let's try one of my own:

K OMG cant GAY mat bruch mk SIHPS CAH MUATE 50 can hav OMG chis who gat WTF BADER wehn i RAD THEM LOL TEH HEL OF THER A$$ wud be cul N btw mst hev taht oter 1337 84D455 faeture i OMG lik so WTF R U wiatin matt I want it OMGWTFLOL $*Łů!!§'?!!!1!11!!!1!!

As I said when I bumped this topic, we have the right to laugh a bit here, doesn't we? DOESN'T WE? (desperate at the idea of EV Dev's corner being just a boring place where you have to deal with odd plug designing problems). Well, the moderators of this particular board are participating in the game, so I don't see much problems.

One last thing: you should have put M before this, Tiresmoke, we need to keep an order in the various stupidities people may post so that they go faster (and we too) by just saying: I want A,K,M,C and could YOU do MY term paper? 😛

Seeing as you are all-knowledgeable about what a non-toilet-spiraling topic should do, how about you contribute to this topic in such a way as it meets your exacting criteria?

I can't say I am all knowing, nor do I suspect anyone here can. However it is an interesting topic of conversation. While I am not far enough along in plug in dev that I feel justified in making a plug worthy of pay, who knows that at some point I won't. I am considuring it in the racing sim world though as that is where my efforts have been for many years. I have approached one company already about licensing thier game engine and would have followed through had the deal been a tad more lucrative. In my case though there was a change of publisher that changed the deal so it was less enticing to do at that time. Yet the idea does remain a viable option.

So yes while I am not contributing much, (Except my support of the idea earlier in this thread), I am interested in watching it. Though I have to say this AOL speak does not help the topic stay alive, but that is just my humble opinion.

But is it spiraling clockwise or counter-clockwise? 😉

I will not bash my own hemisphere, I will not bash my own hemisphere....

If my own plug-in-progress ( not CF! I wouldn't wish this on Skyblade!) ever gets to the point where I think it's worthy of it, I may add some Spike Jones or PDQ Bach pieces. Perhaps I should get them re-recorded.... Anyone out there know how to gargle in tune?

(Yeah, I'm joking. For now, anyway!)
