*Gasp*! A NovaTools Bug!

This looks like a major bug! In the jünk editor, everything is reversed. Check out, for example, bio-weapons. Codec is listed as the "Sold At:" spöb, while Moash and the two Menins are listed as "Bought At:". The same problem applies to the "Buy On" and "Sell On" tests. It got very confusing trying to edit them... maybe 1.0.1, Dr. Ralph? 🙂

And, while we're on the topic, a couple of the editors don't have the index/resID buttons working right; unfortunately I don't remember which ones.

I believe the weapons field is one of those.

I dont know if anyone else noticed this, perhaps I'm just stupid, but the onAbortset and onShipDoneset fields in the missions dont work. Can someone plese try this to verify it for me? A simple mission, always available that displays a quote on abort is a fairly simple test. If anyone else knows what I'm doing wrong, I'd love the advice.

Also, when calculated ship probabilities in (I believe) the dude resource; NovaTools erroneously subtracts 1 from the total probability for each -1 (not used) value. Not a big deal, just slightly cosmetically annoying. Not a big deal at all.

Thanks Folks, keep em coming. I'll be reviewing the bug reports and posting updtaes for NovaTools as time permits. This thread seems to be a suitable place to add your observations.

I remember there was a typo, but I can't remember where, because I fixed it:/ (by editing a DITL)

Well, some NOVA missions use the OnShipDone and OnAbort fields with success.

When i was making my Starbridge look better (rebal starbridge in grey, looks a lot cooler than the "original" starbridge) i went to change where the weopons were located on it, and it never changed! it said that they'd fire from teh cannons, but they still fired from the nose!

This is partly why I am so confused, they work in the game, but not in plugs. I assumed that it was a NovaTools bug, perhaps NovaTools doesn't code these feilds for some reason... I dunno. I'm sure Dr. Ralph will figure it out. 🙂

In the wëap resource: the option to fail the submunitions when the shot expires does not seem to work.

Sometimes, when I've been using ResEdit for about ten minutes or more and I open an outf editor, ResEdit locks up completely. I can still move the mouse, but it doesn't respond to clicks or normal keyboard commands, and of course, the Force Quit command never works.

I'm too lazy to read all the stuff on this topic about NovaTools, and perhaps it is answered elsewhere, but is there/going to be a graphical spob/syst editor in Novatools?

SIGH... In the time it took you to post that, you could have done a search for "graphical syst". But to appease your lazy exp. , I'll go ahead and tell you that one for NovaTools doesn't exist as far as we know. Get NovaMap, links are in a topic somewhere on the first page of posts.

Not sure what is causing this one. ResEdit doesn't seem to be as stable under OS9.2.x , are you running a new system? Try deleting the ResEdit prefs and reinstalling NovaTools.

I have been having the same problem has Cafall: using ResEdit for about ten minutes or more, I open a resource to edit (any, not limited to just outf), NovaTools interface starts to appear and then computer locks up; can still move mouse but nothing works have to Force Restart.

I thought maybe the Grayscale Interface was causing the problem so I which to BW Interface, however, the computer still locks up.

Tried deleting ResEdit prefs and reinstalling NovaTools twice but the problem still exists.

I am using a G3, 233mhz, 96 RAM, Virtual Memory 150 MB running OS 9.2.2.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. It is very irritating trying to work on plug-ins and having to do a Force Restart every 10-15 minutes and then wait about 5 minutes for the computer/OS to come back up.

Try uninstalling Novatools and only using resedit TMPLS, see if that works and it is really a novatools problem or if its a Nova problem. From all the talk and problems people are having with char resources and now all this stuff, one almost wonders if Nova has serious problems using a lot of the resources in plugin files over ones in the datafiles.

I haven't seen any of the talk about chars, but all of mine work perfectly. I try to figure out the hex Editor, thanks. I'll post my results here.
