I am creating a new plugin for PoG and I'd like some ideas for extra spells/Alchemy from the PoG community. My Ideas so far:
CONJUROR: LEVEL 1 - Mystic Blast (Small, basic offensive spell, basically an alternative to magic arrow) LEVEL 2 - Curse (Temp, Take away speed, dexterity, and perception) LEVEL 3 - Sever Seal (Essential spell, used in some quests) LEVEL 4 - Block (Locks an enemy within a small radius) LEVEL 5 - Summon Earth Elemental (CLASSIFIED) - Cold Fire (VERY VERY VERY CLASSIFIED)
RANGER: LEVEL 1 - Plant Seeds (Plants a seed. Stick around long enough and it grows to a random plant of ingredients) LEVEL 2 - Absorbant Powder (Creates a powder equivalent to a conjuror's SEVER SEAL) LEVEL 3 - Fenellys Brew (Hinders your enemy's dexterity) LEVEL 4 - Earthdust (VERY VERY VERY CLASSIFIED) - Equivalent of Cold Fire
SWORDSMAN: Intrepid (Short Sword, Slows enemies down) Vrianar Helm (Very strong) Fire Shield (Powerful Shield) Phial of Llon'goek (Swordsman version of Sever Seal) Glowing Crystal (Swordsman version of Cold Fire)

Looks interesting. If I have the time and can make/get the graphics, I might do it.
Some more ideas:
CONJURER: LEVEL 1 - Dissipate (Causes an enemy to become dumb, and hit you less often) LEVEL 2 - Phantom Merchant (Summons a shop where you can get a few basic food items, and sell your stuff) LEVEL 3 - View (Equivilent of Eagle Eye) LEVEL 4 - Blast (First relocate/blink to a blocked tile, then cause it to become accessable (may not work very well)) LEVEL 5 - Summon Ice Elemental (You know :D) LEVEL 6 - Ice Storm (Throw a massive amount of IceBolts at your enemy; I may be able to pull this one off...) LEVEL 7 - Andromeda (CLASSIFIED-TOP SECRET COLDSTONE PRIORITY) LEVEL 7 - Armageddon (CLASSIFIED FOR NOW)
RANGER: You pretty much have it covered for now in this catagory.
SWORDSMAN:
Spiked Helm: Little Protection, but adds damage Gem of Farsight - Equivilent of View/Eagle Eye Flaming Oil: Held in hand, then throw bolt at enemy. One use per flask. Glass Sword: Check Blue Mushroom Pub. Okay, I'll tell you. This one comes from the RPG series Ultima. A glass sword will break when a hit is scored, how ever it will kill most creatures in one blow (HINT-useful at the end of DiD, carry a lot) Gidolan Sabre: Just a sword. Good one though. Earthquake pellets: Homemade earthquakes, works on rabbits. Moonstone: When planted in the ground, this summons a portal. It will stay in that spot, so you can suommon the portal whenever you are there, or you can pick the stone up.

No. either you are only stuck in that cell or if you are one square from accesible tiles, the game lets you go there anyways,

I'd been considering something like this.
Flaming Oil: Held in hand, then throw bolt at enemy. One use per flask.
Sounds good. Improved idea- when you attack with it, checks whether you have others. If you do, drops one. If not, attack, unequip and drop.

SPEAKING of the Blue Mushroom Pub... AV considers putting a Spoon merchant in the game, as an Easter Egg. 1 more spell idea- something like th 'Rabbit Replacement' spell in Yipe! III, and equivalents for all classes, and equivelants for all classes for a 'Return To Surface' spell!
You should make weapon for swordman that goes in the sheild slot, but gives you extra attack. Cause your guys should be able to hold two swords at a time don't you think.

Good idea. I'll add that to my database.
Also you should make "Potion of Power" for the Ranger. It make all your stats go up by 10-20 for a period of time, but to make it you need a speical(sp) book(sort of like the minotaur book) and one of the ingredients is SUPER expensive. you'll need to make the new ingredientcause the others don't cost too much, and it can go with other good potions.
For the conjourers you could make "Staff of the Archers" that, if you have enough magic, shoots magical arrows that deal 10-20, 25-50 or 50-100(depends on how much it costs, or how hard to finish the quest that gives it to you) at all nearby opponents. it should only cost like 1-10 magic cause every single time you attack you lose magic.
For the Conjourers and Swordmen you should have bow, cause i like to use bow every once in a while but i don't use ranger very often. you should be able to get from like one of the cyclops that are attacking Dernath, or a mind hunter in the "Elven Bow of Destruction Cave" that is near Fantrima.
If someone makes a plugin that needs map space, there is a ton of room on the screen of the Fantrima Tunnel Entrance. Only 1/3 of the space on the map is used, and you could fit a goblin town that you destroy for Fantrima, with a cave north of it where you can find a long lost mine, where gold is everywhere, but Molespiders have made a home there, so you destroy them. Also you could get a weapon from the Goblin cause, lets say, they have the Mayor of Fantrima's daughter as a hostage.

No, in DiD(One of the best plugins for PoG) it's a bigger thing. all FOUR of the Queen's daughters have captured and there are tons of quests. in the one i explain quickly above, there is only one small quest where you beat up some goblins and get some gold, or a new, average weapon and/or armor.

Another idea for a plugin would be a theif hidout in the woods north of Berglum(not Upper Berglum from DiD). And the Theives own one of the weapons that we have already thought up, and their leader drops it. The quest could be that theives had been robbing the blacksmith in berglum and he gives you quest, telling you that the owner of the inn at Berglum knew where their hideout was. Also, there is a bunch of space around Wrym Valley. the Saphirre used up some of that space, and the dark fairy lives their, but there is still tons of space near the cliffs, and the rivers that you pass on the way up north from Gwyden camp. Conclusion: THERE IS TONS OF FREAKING SPACE TO MAKE PLUGINS AND I"M AM BORED TO DEATH PLAYING POG CAUSE NOTHING NEW IS IN IT! SO GO MAKE SOME PLUGINS!!!! Okay i'm done. Had to let out some of my Krayziness.

KrayzKid, one thing you don't seem to understand about how plugins work is that you cannot add dialogue to existing characters in the standard game of PoG. The blacksmith in Berglum, Mayor Vortek, and others cannot be extended without knowing the source code for the game, and that will not happen.
The same is true for the cyclopes raiding Dernath and the mindhunters in the cave. You cannot give them new items. You can put a new NPC there with any items you want.
You cannot equip the hero with a sword in each hand. The game engine is not set up that way.
You cannot give a conjurer or swordsman a ranged weapon (i.e. bow) because the game engine won't allow it. You can give the conjurer a spell which has a range effect.
Many of your ideas are interesting but unworkable. Sorry 'bout that. ~RD

Okay first, you could make a blacksmith's assistant, and the Mayor's wife. Second, I know that i would have to make another Mindhunter or Cyclops, i was just giving a quick example. Couldn't you just make sheild that has the icon looks like a weapon, and just make it give extra attack to you(i know you can do the extra attack cause in trinity the stone of might in the swordman's guild gives extra attack.) Can't you make a weapon that attack 1-1, but shoots a arrow(something like a staff of lordship). I think that's all. some of this probably won't work, but i don't have any experience with Coldstone, and i think it only works for macs, and i got a windows.
Hrrm, Rubber Ducky, I know you know MUCH more about all this than me but I must still disagree with one point.

While your certainly right that the game engine has limitations, this particular limitation is because of Trinity...not PoG. If you run the game without Trinity, your one (base) class can use any weapon. The weapon limitations are therefore part of the Trinity Plug. Admittedly, if you want to have a ranged weapon with the Trinity plug active, you may be out of luck, ultimately the issue is with class definitions more than weapon type. Though if I remember correctly from my brief attempt at understanding Coldstone, the weapon types are predefined and you couldn't very easily make a unique ranged weapon that was useable by other classes.

ALdbeign, you are absolutely right and I perhaps phrased it badly. The game engine won't let you do it because the class definitions for swordsman, conjurer, and ranger are set by the Trinity plugin not to allow certain types of weapons. Without the Trinity plugin, the player can use any weapon. Some weapons, however, are also limited use by having a requirement of X amount of strength or dexterity before they can be equiped.
It is actually the class definition which is the limiting factor, but the game engine "looks" at that definition and "says" that bows work only for a ranger.
The plugin developer cannot make a bow that the swordsman can use. Whether you want to say that is because of the game engine or the class definition really doesn't make much difference.
If you want a swordsman who does use bows, you have to start a game without Trinity activated and then proceed to activate it. Now you will have a character who looks like a swordsman, acts like a swordsman, smells like a swordsman, but also knows how to draw a bowstring. He won't have the option of increasing strength or stamina at certain level-up times and some other swordsman features may not work but that's not the same as giving a true swordsman a bow.

En Contraire, Mr. Ducky, the Double Sword idea is totally workable. Have a shield called 'Alternatice Sword' Have it do no protection, but +20 damage or whatever. The attacking thing- I must have this compatible with trinity. There must be a way to do it. P.S. All you guys rock! Thanks X 1000000

Good luck! For one thing, when you designate the item as a shield, it will not appear in the inventory list of weapons but rather get included in the list of shields. I would guess that it is possible if you are willing to accept that drawback, but I'll hold off until I see it work. There may be unforseen problems with having two sources of damage.
