Hey, all. 'Tis me again.
I was wondering what everyone's statistics (health, strength, etc.) were after beating DiD. I just need to get a reference point for how tough I should have the monsters be in the plug-in I'm making. Suggestions are welcome, of course. Thanks for any help you can offer.

i was about lvl. 16 as a conjourer, about 100 in dexterity, luck, and strength.

------------------ PoG,Starcraft, WarcraftIII and EVNova are awsome games. I M A Kid that is very Krayz. I am also very awesome, while u r not. so haha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First off, I would question KrayzKid's level 16. I don't think you can play that much game and not be higher than 16 unless you are using cheats.
I just happen to have saved each character in Queen Ariana's courtyard which is just after finishing the DiD quests. In addition to the three classes there is also a swordsman which was created without Trinity and subsequently used with Trinity loaded. The game calls this character "Default" and he can use bows as well as the regular Swordsman's weapons. Each of these characters completed Spells expander as well as Damsels in Distress, but has not started World of CHa0s yet. The results are:
Class.................Swordsman........Conjurer.......Ranger.........Default Stamina.....................613.....................406...............777.............404 Armor.........................152......................112..............141..............152 Strength.....................435......................240..............259..............486 Dexterity.....................103......................101..............118..............116 Vitality...........................86........................77...............140................80 Speed..........................10.........................13.................13................10 Marksmanship...........13.........................12................ 66...............28 Luck............................100.......................64.................98...............112 Level.............................25........................24.................24.................25
In addition, I can give you some creature stats for some of the DiD characters:
Creature.............Elite Guard........Ice Imp.......Iceman......Ratznest.........Vorkt Stamina..................2000................1500............125............20000.............3000 Strength......................50....................75...............75................30....................95 Dexterity......................50....................80...............50................50....................60
I'm sorry, but the Devil's stats are not available for publication. ~RD

Ah, a new character to play with. I'm not sure how much I would use a bow with the Swordsman, but it does offer a character with one more ability to play with. Are there any downsides to using a Swordsman built this way?
It's amazing the little tidbits you discover reading these web boards. I would have assumed that the Swordsman would lose his range weapon ability once you load Trinity.

The only downsides are that you do not get the increases in strength or stamina that are offered to a "true" Swordsman at certain level-ups. However, the character progresses along quite nicely. You get a message every time you open a saved game that the game was started without Trinity and some things may not work, but just ignore it. You do have access to the Swordsman's Guild. When you meet some NPCs that would normally greet you with, "Hello, Swordsman . . ." they say, "Hello, Default . . ." instead. Big deal. There are some distinct advantages to having a bow in inventory when you have an obstruction or river between you and a nasty creature. Many caves also offer the opportunity to kill your foes before they can get to you.
OK this makes me wonder if it is possible to make a plug for the normal Trinity Swordsman that would teach him range weapon skills. If Default can do it, then why not Swordsman?
Whew. Thanks for the comprehensive list, RD. The monster stats will help me very much. Now I have a number to attach to every time I ran screaming through the Ice Cave. It's not much wonder I had so much trouble; my stats were much lower.
It would certainly be possible to make the Trinity swordsman capable of using ranged weapons if you had the Trinity source code, but it was probably left out to make sure that character wasn't unbalancing when compared with the other classes. Since the Default character was supposed to be able to use every weapon (it wouldn't make much sense to have him get a weapon he couldn't use), adding the choice of ranged weapons to the swordsman might seem kind of unfair.

That's true! But, after you have played through this game as many times as I have, with all the characters, it's refreshing to discover something new to try. And regarding your initial post, RD always comes to our rescue. RD is our "Long Haired Savior."

My stats for the first time through the Ice Cave would be a little bit lower. Those numbers are for the end of the plugin with the characters fondly clutching the Blade Diabolus (which does include a stats boost.) I think in a couple of cases, I might have taken a trip to Reefs Island to get the dexterity higher after getting the sword reforged and before taking on Ratznest, et. al.

Now, cut that out! I am NOT the Long Haired Savior. In fact, I'm lucky I have any hair left.

Hey, it's still tough. Of course, that makes it a lot more fun. You have to rely more on strategy to survive (lavunith powders, anyone?).

That's fine. You're our "Not Really All That Long-Haired Savior."

Still, they wouldn't be that hard to figure out. It takes me about 9 glass swords (delivers 3000 point blow to target then shatters) to beat him, so he has around 25000 hp. Also, no armor can defend against him. This is because he is a crature of the "magic" type. I would estiamate the damage to be around 40-70 points per hit, and around 4 speed. BTW, what are some of the DiD creatures' speed levels? I was wondering about this the other day.

Not too good in math, eh? 'Tis a pity.

At the same time he changes LifeKnight's subtitle to "Royal <insert flame>"
I ment to say 25000 hp. Sorry.
EDIT: And I wouldn't really be surprised if moki changed both. He's been known to play mean tricks in the past. Maybe I'll get my karma changed to "Jerkass (-1000)." It doesn't really matter, as I didn't really need the Devil's stats all that much. Stamina-wise, Coldstone maxes out at approximately 34,000. So, monsters can't get much stronger in that regard. But otherwise... (Diabolical laughter)

Uh oh. What have I begun?

Experience maxes out in a similar way. I oncce tried to create a plugin that had an easy creature give 30,000+ experience. When I set to above a certain point, weird things started to happen (like exp. started going into the negatives).
Also, (!Rubber Ducky! please take note of this for the Damsels sequel), I hate creatures in RPGs that have massive amounts of health. It doesn't matter how much damage they do, but pounding away and drinking potions for about a half hour just gets boring/frusterating. A creature with only moderate health but large damage would be better. Or perhaps one that uses an interesting spell on you. I have to admit it, but I've never really killed the devil without cheating. After using Diablous on him for about a fifteen minutes, he killed me (or I gave up, whatever). He's just too hard. I alwys use Ultima or said glass swords.

I'm sorry, LifeKnight, but I remain unmoved by that. The Devil has been defeated by every class of player without resorting to glass swords or other such cheats. It doesn't take a half hour to do it either. It does take skill and strategy, however. My concept of a good plugin is to provide a new challenge in the framework of an interesting story line. Did anyone expect that defeating the Devil himself would be easy? I would hope not. I cannot accept the concept that "He's just too hard."

I agree with RD here. The Devil was the final enemy in DiD; it would follow that he is extremely difficult to defeat. My regular monsters won't be much stronger than the ones in RD's plug-in, but the "boss" monsters will be very tough. Most of us would generally try to make the enemies beatable, so long as the player put an appropriate amount of effort into defeating them.
